I've been thinking about "The Silent Majority" and trying to comprehend what exactly it is and what its role in all of this is. I've had a couple of really awkward conversations with siblings lately regarding covid and I think I understand their position better. I've got 7 siblings and we were all raised to be good citizens, doing our jobs well and contributing far more than we take from society. We're also very private with our thoughts and opinions, so we're often mistaken for having little to say. These awkward conversations ended with a change of subject when I casually mentioned that I thought covid was bullshit and the lockdowns were all wrong. I was stunned and couldn't comprehend how anyone related to me could think so differently but I think I get it now. The thing about people that are diligent workers, professionals, etc is that they have entered into an unwritten contract with the world, wherein they will keep their noses to the grindstone in exchange for being treated with respect and not subjected to bullshit. We don't want anything for free, we don't expect to be bailed out for our mistakes, we just want to be treated fairly. This means that we often assume that others are just as trustworthy, so we believe MSM, politicians, bureaucrats, etc, even though we have some doubts about them. It doesn't make us dumb, asleep or uneducated, it just means we still trust our leaders. It's part of the contract we've committed to. But there's a line that can't be crossed. When the core population realizes they've been lied to and that the "contract" was never honored by the other side, the absence of their contribution will be impossible to replace. I feel like there is a building unease in the populace, and when it reaches its limit it won't be expressed in the form of protests, looting or burning, it'll be a huge segment of the population just withdrawing their services. There is no way that this economy can support a majority of the population just taking. There must always be a core of determined, dedicated workers holding everything together. When the core realizes they've been lied to and that the "contract" was never honored by the other side, this whole charade will come to an end. Just a theory.

I’ve got 6 older siblings- all are getting the shot. They feel they won’t have to worry about getting/spreading it- they’re fear is palpable- I’m just a conspirator anti-vaxer (which I’m not) b/c I won’t get it or the flu shot. They still watch MSM & follow the stars. It’s disheartening tbh
That's how I felt too. I still do, but now I'm feeling more hopeful. I'm betting that your siblings are good people. When good people are misled and taken advantage of they can become powerful adversaries of their abusers.
COVID being a farce will turn a lot of people on either side of the aisle.
Oh boy, do I pray for that to happen. A sudden, indisputable reveal.
ehh, too late for my grandmother. Ive been giving tidbits to fam and they turning hostile. but the one that chased me out is the only one listening.
If they'll listen there's hope.
I’m sorry, I can empathize with you.
I have one sibling and he unfortunately got the Anti-Cootie shot last week/ My SIL was actually celebrating the fact that the both got the vaccine, BTW they're both big supporters of Biden.
If we only ever watched/listened to the MSM we'd probably all be brainwashed too.
My condolences.
Thank you it's a tpugh row to how.
It's amazing how many people don't know that getting the flu shot is pointless. There's a new strain every year and how it will mutate can't be anticipated, meaning a vaccine can't be prepared in advance. The flu shot contains several strains that the CDC recommends being inoculated against, but this only protects you from strains that aren't being passed around anymore.
I withdrew my support 12 years ago when the markets crashed. That was the beginning of my awakening. Until reading your comment, I'd never drawn the connection to John Galt. Thanks.
Being a huge fan of Ayn Rand, I also have seen the similarities to Atlas Shrugged since Obama's first term. We woke up, walked away, discovered Q, found God again, down sized and retired early and are much happier for it. Trump has been a wonderful inspiration to us all.
"Downsizing" is unthinkable to many people but they are often miserable amidst all of their "things". Good for you and enjoy your retirement.
I down sized from a camper to a house. winter was brutal in that. -19° and needed to keep dog under wraps or it would die. so much for being homeless.
You mean you down-sized from house to camper, I assume? We're in a Mongolian Yurt in Northern Ontario. Pretty cold here too, but we keep it cozy. I've lived in a camper long ago and woken up with frozen hair. Yuck.
had camper for a few years, had to borrow money for a house, still need to redo floors, sewer. exterior wals etc. I went from up and go to f it ill stay.
No choice is without its downsides. I'm still trying to learn and learn from that.
Oh shit. Did I just plagiarize Ayn Rand?
Thanks. I wonder if that'd hold up in court though. Good term.
No.
The middle class will be the last to awaken.
The poor and rich understand true human nature.
Agreed. Maybe they're so busy working to sustain the poor and the rich that they haven't got time to awaken?
I believe you are correct. Many have yet to understand their leadership is lying to and cheating them. It's out of their realm of possibility. However, as WE know, We the People hold ALL the cards. We have never needed violence. All we have ever needed is free flowing information and each other. Trump and his team have done the impossible. He has brought them out for all to see. I believe he trusts us and the Constitution more than we do! He has allowed himself to take a much needed break while it plays out. He believes in US! He believes WE will do the right thing when it all crashes down. I believe WE will too. Together, as we are destined to, we will clean out this mess and protect the future from these maniacal tyrants and their prodigy.
Well said and very invigorating.
It would be relatively easy for a majority of Americans to stock up on a week's worth of food/water and go on 'strike' for a week. No going to work, no buying anything, no long-distance travel.
Then you'd see some real panic in DC.
It would be like a fun camping excursion for us, a week of unspeakable horror for them.
Who is John Galt?
I guess Galt's Gulch would pop up on google earth and blow their cover if it were to happen in current times.
Now THIS is what I come here for.
Thank you for this well-written piece.
Good theory, I think it goes along with people who think we had a just election because they expect the dems to play by (Constitutional) rules. In some ways they don't want the red pill because it would mean waking up to the reality of the rule breaking and unfairness.
Yep. It's hard to accept something that upsets your whole reality.
Don't think it's a theory. Think it's enlightened. This is how I run my life. When people are disingenuous, I withdraw from them and stop interacting with them. As I've gotten wiser and older I've developed a very strong bullshit meter. I play a game with the wife predicting who that she know that I've just met is not who and what they present themselves as being. It really ticks her off when I'm dead on about 95% of the time. I think it's part of human nature to believe what we want to believe and everyone needs to learn to not do this and observer better as everyone has micro-tells that give them away. There are some videos and books on this we could all use to be better BS meters. They've been lying to us and conning us forever, on both sides of the political isle. If you are honest and decent, would you want to be part of Congress after witnessing the corruption and lies, kangaroo courts? Time for many good citizens to do it anyways so the lying shills can be replaced with honest citizens. Just don't know how we get past rigged elections and ever trust an election again?
Very good comment. Can you direct me to any of these videos, because I could use some help in that department. I have a tendency to trust based on who I hope people are rather than who they seem to be. I'm still recovering from several burns acquired because of this.
That's a very detailed response. Thank you.
I remember that from the show. I don't feel like I learned anything from it but I know from past experiences that things seep into my subconscious, and I don't realize I've learned something. Of course, garbage seeps in too.
That was a great show, was disappointed they canceled it
Reminded me of this:

That's pretty cool, I'd never heard that. That sounds like exactly what is needed. I can also see that as a cool T-Shirt graphic.
Please use paragraphs. Why can't people write correctly anymore?
You're right. I've always struggled with paragraphs. And commas. There's so much ambiguity with the rules of comma usage.
its just a headache to read is all :)
Okay. I guess it's time to enroll in paragraph school. Sorry for the headache.
I'm one of 8 kids in my family. We were raised by both parents in a fairly conservative type of home, nothing out of the ordinary. We were expected to do what was expected of us, getting educated, finding a job to support ourselves, be in service to God and country, live by traditional morals etc. One parent was a Dem, (father) and the other a Republicans (mom), and politics came up once in awhile. Nothing major...until VietNam...THAT war...remember??? Needless to say out of 8 kids, 2 smoked and have become very liberal, and the rest are pretty similar minded about the vaccine/Trump/Q etc. It has come to where we don't discuss politics when the "other" two are around, bc loud arguments commence. LOL
Our family doesn't argue, we just avoid. I was stunned when I talked to my oldest brother a while back to find that he buys in to all of this. When he was a teen, he was the rebel, always in trouble (nothing big). As an adult, he matured into a no-nonsense, no-bullshit kind of old-school man. I didn't expect him to be leading a protest, but I expected him to see through it for the ridiculousness it is. I live away from them all and I can't stand the imagery of them in masks, lining up for a vaccine.
It's a good theory. In the end, the ones who actually contribute to society are just trying to get through their day, some happily, others not so much. Makes it real hard to break them away from what is shown in front of their faces, but open the third eye, they must.
