Since when does snow burn? What’s in it?

Not to be anti-conspiracy theory (which i'm not) but... my guess is carbon gets deposited there from an flame that is not burning all of its fuel (think about when you light a candle in a jar and there is black suit where the flame touched the glass... the glass isn't burning, carbon is being deposited) Also, snow has a lot of air in it, and air is an excellent insulator. Eskimos build igloos and put fires inside and the igloos don't melt. If you've seen the video where the guy lights his propane-fueled campfire, the snow didn't turn black because propane burns very clean (no carbon left to deposit). Butane does not burn as clean. Just my $0.02...
This was my thought as well. When you hold something to the orange tip of a flame it’s spitting black carbon
Spoons don’t burn either but if you hold the tip of a flame to a spoon it turns black as well
"My dad says butane's a bastard gas" - Bobby Hill But yes, this is the case. When you hold the butane flame near the snowball and look closely, you can watch the portion exposed to the flame melt and nearly instantly get pulled into the snowball like a sponge pulls in water. Very similar structure to a sponge when packed loosely by hands. I saw the video and had to try it myself after getting weirded out.
Umm....
Snow when compacted wont melt like you'd think it would. it melts but merges with the rest of the snowball which is why it doesnt seem like its melting. The blackness is from carbon deposits from the flame of the lighter.
Dont panic this is normal!

When a flame burned out puts off carbon or smoke. That snore woo leave a residue. The white of the snow makes the dark residue stand out by contrast. I saw a video about this yesterday and decided to try this. I was puzzled at first but then tried it with an ice cube from my freezer. The same thing happens with the smoke stain. The snow doesn't seem to melt but I think that is from surface tension of water. In my opinion, as the water melts it is wicked toward the inside of the snowball because it isn't packed as tightly in the center and the surface tension of water pulls it toward that center.
You're welcome! I do what I can and I'm glad that I can share my expert knowledge and opinion that covers many fields. Even though I was only talking about something that I did on my own covering one thing.
Old urban myth.
Come on people.
If this is correct then the snow will never melt and Texas will be covered in snow for the rest of time, right ? so sick of these stupid assholes
My son lives in Texas. The wife just woke him up. He's going to independently verify this later today.
So this got debunked when ghost of Ezra posted it on his Telegram if you try to burn the snow when it hasn't been compacted it melts just fine when you squish it up into an ice ball you see the impurities from the butane go onto it they're literally just going from gas to a solid because this this ice is so cold so thus you see the black impurities solidify onto it believe me this is all silliness. I know cuz I tried this in Wisconsin over a decade ago
It doesn't burn... that is the soot from the flame, the reason why "it doesn't melt" is because, given the very limited heat source from a small flame, anything that does melt gets quickly absorbed by the rest of the flakes, snow is a surprisingly good insulator, so the "core" of the snowball barely gets affected, hence why it absorbs anything that does melt from the outer layers.
Grab some, put it on a pan or something, and then put it in a stove top for a few mins, I guarantee you it will melt then
I wish people would think a bit before jumping to conclusions, saw a bunch of posts about this on GAB... people thinking there are some giant fake snow generator somewhere..
Really? I wish ppl would just give a response without some kind of lecture on why or why not someone should post something. I posted it bc I have a fren in Texas and although I understand you’re saying, this isn’t normal. Just trying to help my fren get some answers and there’s nothing wrong with that.
It was not directed at you, I was talking about people jumping to conclusions, not posting :)
Like in my example, where people immediately think there are giant fake snow generators somewhere and weather control.
Gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up.
Sublimation and that is the ash residue of the butane after the water evaporates. It is hilarious that this went around almost 10 years ago and us smart people had to teach dumb people about 8th grade science.
Welp, even the plandemic thinks someone has far too much time on their hands...
I've seen a few videos of people wondering why snowballs aren't melting with flame.
First, when the snow has enough humidity in it the snow can clump around the liquid, since the snowflakes individually aren't compressed into ice, there are gaps for the melt to fill before it will drip away.
People are using Bic lighters or candles for the flame, flames which leave soot behind.
As others have noted, snow acts as a good insulator, and this type of display is only showing that, not that there is anything wrong with the snow.
Sorry OP ... My son in Texas just tried burning the snow and it didn't work ... Post the video or you're a shill
If you say so, I do t really care what you think. How about you post a vid of your Texas son trying it and then we’ll talk. Fuck off.
Then post the video. I've posted a link twice (in this thread) that allows you to post a video here.
Notice I didn't just call you a shill. I asked for some sauce for what you're claiming and said if didn't provided it then you are indeed a shill.
Hell post the video to YouTube and drop the link.
I kind of want this to be true but with a picture of melting snow and a claim that I know to have been checked and couldn't be verified it seems to be a farse.
Simple Solution: POST THE VID

Here’s one better than what I have.
Do you really think that the weather pattern over the “fly over states” is naturally occurring? There are a number of weather modification tools being utilized to put the US into a deep freeze (ionospheric heating and scalar technologies to direct the jet stream, ie “the arctic vortex, cloud seeding with nano particles, etc, and some of them can form flammable compounds that are trapped as centres of nucleation form to create snow that burns. Not the first time this has happened.
Hell freezing over. Just joking.
There are videos on you tube about this from 6 or 7 years ago. This isn't a new thing. I tried it with a match and got the same result. I also tried melting an ice cube from my freezer, made from tap water. It got the black soot on it, but it did melt quickly. I was very curious about this because I let my kids play in this snow.
Not trying to hijack this, but I heard that many people in TX have been suffering from headaches/migraines after the weather went through. I’m in north GA and we had some of the weather (although not as bad as TX) and I’ve had a massive headache for a day now. Anyone else hearing this?
Drastic changes in temperature do that.
Also, the cold will give you a runny nose, which will build up in your sinuses, giving you a sinus infection.
First, stay hydrated. Second, drink some warm coffee and breathe in the steam. Third, take a hot shower or bath and keep the water on your face for a little while.
If all that doesn't work, put a hot towel on your forehead and upper cheeks, and keep switching it out when it loses heat.
When you have a runny nose, blow your nose. Clear yourself out. And if you have a lot of work to do, take pseudoephedrine 12hr once a day for no longer than four days in a row.
Agree with all - only thing I'd change is drink hot/warm herbal tea instead of coffee. Less sugar in your system (if you take your coffee that way) will be a lot more beneficial to quicker recovery. But i know people say they can't function without coffee ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor, which can help reduce headaches.
But in general, yes, herbal tea is better for clearing sinuses.
Wasn't referring to the caffeine but the added stuff people put in their coffee
Texan here. I normally get migraines before fronts come through, but surprisingly I have not with these past 2 polar storms. I’m kind of surprised.

Like it's burning your fingers?
or you can take a match to it and the snow will burn?
No, like it burns when under a direct flame.
did you break it open to see whats inside? or has it melted yet?
please show it!
I can’t upload the vid on here.

The handshake accounts are quick to provide absurd explanations with no sauce or science.
We all know that chemical ice nucleation is a patented process long used by weather engineers to create snow and/or massive cool down events.
Ice nucleating agents include metals such as barium and aluminum, even bacteria. Chemically Nucleated Snow, What is it?
The shills pouncing on this thread immediately to divert should tell you something. Expect major food shortages from catastrophic livestock losses.
Biden’s “Dark Winter” is just beginning.
Except the wave busts from HAARP and NEXRAD installations are visible on radar, forming unnatural geometric features with straight edges - even perfect squares and rectangles. Aircraft depositing aerosols ahead of fronts also visible on radar. Laboratory tests confirm that precipitation contains unnatural levels of aluminum, barium, strontium, and more. All this has measurably increased Earth’s albedo —dimming the sunlight that hits the Earth.
The “mini ice age” of the 18th C likely corresponds with a Solar Minimum. Today you can’t distinguish natural weather phenomena from manipulated influences.
Best answer yet. I noticed the same. Thanks Pede!
saw videos of this years ago. its frozen chemtrails
Yes I’ve been around snow and yes I know this. But I’ve never seen snow burn and not melt under flame, just saying.
hold your nose where the huskies go and do not eat the yellow snow
Uh-oh, he didn't happen to have a lead-filled snowshoe did he?
Ooof, that sounds awful!
Say, could I interest you in a pair of zircon-encrusted tweezers?
No problem. A fren in Texas sent this and a vid of it burning to me. I can’t post the vid but I got this pic. There’s probably logical explanations but I’ve never seen snow do this. It burns and doesn’t melt under direct flame. Have yourself a great day Pede!
life long northern wisconsin pede here and i can confirm snow melts and does not burn
Thank you for a straight forward, non insulting answer, Pede. Just trying to help my fren find some answers.
np not here to insult i truly believe in WWG1WGA
Sounds like something a shill would say... I think you have never seen snow in person...
Ahaha! I am pulling your leg mate! Snow should not burn... Because if it does, Greenland is about to have a colour revolution... xD
WWG1WGA!
So Greenland is the icy one? And Iceland is the green one?
Yeah. They used to correspond their names back in the day, now that we entering a solar minimum again, maybe they will change climates again.
I’ll figure it out. It’s not a link to a site so I’m trying to figure out how to upload it.
