Let's think about. They can now say:
"If you disagree with what we're telling you to do, go vote us out. Oh that's right, you can't."
Biden has been pushing all his handler's un-popular policies as if there are no consequences for him. It is probably as much about getting them done as showing the voters that they don't matter and they better get used to it.
That's not to mention the CCP virus restrictions. In the old soviet block countries, what they are doing now, they used to call 'state of war' (I quoted the literal translation, most sources would translate it to 'Marshall Law'). Who was the government at war against: the people of course, who were unhappy with what was going on in their country. These days, in the west they do the same thing but call it COVID. And if you're not convinced, think about this:
Are you allowed to protest. At best, the media would demonize you for doing something that is supposed to be your right. At worst, in some of these democrat run states, you'd be ticketed or arrested for protesting. Unless you protest in favor of them (i.e. BLM).
Can you move around freely. For now, kind of. But you now have to get a virus test if you want to fly. Airlines are banning Trump supporters. The ground border between US and Canada is closed for no logical reason (according to them, the virus is everywhere on both sides, so what is this accomplishing?). I guess on this point, they're still working on it.
Are you being prevented from congregating (for fear you might be plotting against them). In many democratic states, yes. And that includes your houses of worship, so that's the state of your freedom of religion.
Many people predict, and I would tend to agree, that even when this virus disappears (and it will, sooner than we think, it's already happening), the measure they put in place, at least in part, will remain. Because if any of these measure were ever about a virus, they very quickly became about something else, and that something else isn't going away like a virus might.
