If there was fears of a rouge sub armed with Nuclear Warheads. I’d hazard a guess there’d be dozens of ships and aircraft scanning.

Damn, didn't think they were still running kilo class. Those are pretty old boats (comparable in age to our Los Angeles Flight 1 class subs, source: hubs was sonar tech on an LA flight 1 sub 2000-2004)
Russia runs sub patrols same as we do, nothing really unusual about it. The Kilo is diesel electric, a quiet boat but old, not as quiet as newer boats. But in shallow waters the diesel electrics are hard to track, they have a limited range and speed tho so if you're persistent you can relocate them, they have to snorkel or surface and charge batteries.

Monkey has been watching a lot of P-8s and P-3s up for over a week. Yesterday there were 5 P-8s doing patterns off the coast of Florida. Earlier in the week there were 8 P-8s and 7 P-3s up. Mostly around Florida and the Bahamas but a few were on the west coast. Something is up.
I guess I'll have to take his word for it
