Could the Lord be showing us a picture of the 1000 year reign? Of course, He could. Israel was shown many times what full dependent upon God would bring, but it was in no way the end times. And as a pre-tribulation believer, and with the 1000 year reign falling after the 7 years of tribulation, we're far from the actual happening.
