I was Catholic also and a lot of it doesn’t make sense to me now. And the truth makes sense.
That’s amazing I am finding out that the people who find themselves closest to god don’t follow religion but an eternal knowing.
Truth is not found in the rules of the Catholic Church or the works of a mainline church.The truth is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for your sins and if you confess your sin, accept this free gift of salvation, you are assured of eternal life. It's that easy.

James, the brother of Jesus, didn't believe the claims He made while He was alive and ministering. Something happened to James after the Ressurection that was so profound and world-changing that he became a devote Christian and eventually a martyr. The same can be said for many early Christians. The evidence they had seen was so conclusive that they would rather die horrible deaths than forsake their belief in the risen Christ.
Why is Christianity attacked so viciously by the cabal and their minions? Why are we taught from an early age by secular systems to treat Christianity as nothing but a fairy tale? Why do these people claim we must respect all faiths and creeds, but openly spit on Christianity and the people that believe?
If the only path to God is to believe in Christ and His gift of salvation, then who would benefit from more and more people turning away from that gift? Who rules the world where God is absent?
It's time to start thinking about more than politics because this goes well beyond that.

To get the truth you have to go to the beginning and that’s Samarian. Why is that story line change? Why are books that fill in the gaps and make all religions similar left out? Like the book of Enoch? If the Bible was so important to not go to hell why is it very confusing? You’d think it would be childlike if the punishment is Eternity.
You're looking at this objectively and enjoying reading the Bible, something I don't see with most self-proclaimed Christians, so kudos to you!
I've had similar feelings for a long time and I'm very concerned, as a Christian, that we trust books chosen by mankind, and not necessarily God, as 100% true. I do believe most of it but I honestly believe the gospels more than anything and would let anything else go if I had good reason to believe it wasn't true.
I've e been meaning to read the Apocrypha, I think you might enjoy it as it isn't considered Canon by kost denominations.
Also, what about the fact that the Vatican has worked to hide things, such as biblical evidence and buying out an entire print run of some anti-catholic, atheist book (I may jot have those facts exactly right)? I think there are a lot of dirty secrets about the Christian religion that we may never know the details of, but I don't want to be a sheep, but I do still believe in Jesus Christ.
It's not a contradiction, but a change in perspective. Chapter 1 is an overview of the creation of the universe and Earth up until mankind and chapter 2 switches focus to a human level to go into detail about the relationship between God and man.
You're right, its not an opinion, but a fact that can easily be understood from reading the Bible. The scope of genesis goes from the entirety of the universe and creation in chapter 1 and then changes perspective and scope in chapter 2 to focus on humans.
Chapter 1: a brief overview of an event (God creates man and woman)
Chapter 2: The same event of chapter 1 but given much more detail and a different perspective.
He can make both man and woman and make man first, that is not a contradiction. For example, if you bake a cake and a pie, but tell someone that you made the cake first, does that change the fact that you made both of them?
Also, God is called by many names in the Bible, depending on the context in which He was acting. A lot of this nuance is lost since ancient Hebrew does not translate cleanly into modern English. God having multiple titles isn't surprising once you learn this fact, since all the titles speak to His divine status.
I'm not trying to start an argument with you, I'm trying to answer your questions and objections as best as I can. If you have any interest in the subject then I'd suggest reading some of the books and articles by people like Gerald Schroeder, Hugh Ross, Norman Geisler, William Craig, or Lee Strobel. All of them are much smarter than me and can provide more than the introductory answers I've given.
The thing to keep in mind about the Bible is that it's an ancient book written by multiple authors in ancient languages using multiple literary elements. A literal reading of the modern English translation can be very confusing, and also incorrect, which is why reading supplementary works by authors like the ones I mentioned can be so helpful.
If I had to pick just one book to suggest it would be "I don't have enough faith to be an atheist" by Norman Geisler and Frank Turek. It contains a ton of good info and numerous references and is probably the best place to start researching this subject that I can think of.

What is a red flag about asking people to look into God for themselves not what someone told them to think through a Book written 500 years after Christ ?

Jesus is God regardless of whether one believes in him or not. Even the demons know Jesus is God (James 2:19) I’m all about critical thinking and studying both sides - but be aware that the symbol of the yin/yang and the new age philosophies which accompany those principles run counter to the truth

I naturally grew up like this. I've always gone against the grain, so I came to all of this fairly easily.

I got a lot of shit for it earlier today on here but Q turned me to look for the truth in ALL areas! And I think that might be what we are missing and why everything is taking so long. We are the ones who need to wake up to the possibility even religion was designed for us to fail.

The Catholic Church was the MSM of its time, used to gain control over the masses. The C.C. systematically stomped out all ancient knowledge of true spirituality and history, replacing it with their own false version.
