Good!! Learning at home in a non judgmental environment helps each kid learn at their own pace. My five siblings and I were all homeschooled and we all have made it to adulthood without being indoctrinated by society. I’m SO thankful for my mother’s wisdom back in the 90’s.
For five years I helped with the MathCounts competition program inTexas. Lots of smart kids. but the home schoolers I met or worked with were on average smarter and more knowledgable than their peers. Some also had very good manners. However, some if the home schoolers had a glaring lack of social skills. Very awkward with anyone outside their small circle.
That being said, I'll take socially awkward kids over brainwashed sheep any day!
Homeschooled kids tend to have better social skills than public schooled kids, aa long as their parents get them involved in activities (church groups, clubs, sports).
Indeed. In my experience, parents of home-schooled kids are hyper aware of the need for them to socialise with other children and put an extra effort to make sure they’re enrolled in plenty of activities. Often they end up more social than say, naturally introverted children who go to a big school.
Right, there's also the fucked up heiarchy of public school systems. Children get bullied frequently and often have self esteem problems because they feel isolated. That's without the teachers using shame to teach children. Public school is a nightmare. I have no idea how I survived.

You sure hit that nail on the head. I was working for an engineering society at the time who ran the state competition. MathCounts is all about science and math. Ha!
What you say is true, but I've seen just the same socially awkwardness in some PS kids as well as some right-out defiance and rude. I worked County Science Fair and there was a big difference in projects and communication of their project. They tried to disqualify HS because they supposedly had more time to work on projects.
Faith based schools deserve financial support. Teach the Bible and the Constitution.

Homeschooling our 3rd grader. Bible study every day. He loves it.
Good for you! My daughter is homeschooling her two children, and also includes Bible study in their curriculum. They've made more progress this school year than in any previous (public school), year.

Homeschooling or schools that actually teach instead of indoctrinate. That's the future.
I hope the teachers union enrollment drops as well. They certainly don't have any interest in teaching our children anymore.

Its time to end property taxes that fund these failed schools. Why should the American taxpayer give his/her hard earned money to an organization that no longer teaches but indoctrinates. One that tells our sons and daughters that its the color of their skin that defines who and what they are and pigeonholes their success with equity programs lacking any merit incentives. It is a school system designed to destroy our Nation from within by destroying our greatest asset--our children.

Property taxes are direct taxes and therefore are unconstitutional...Article 1 Section 9 paragraph 4. Property taxation began after WW2 when the fed gov talked the people into sending their money to pick up the slack FOR 2 YEARS. Not another word was said and the unconstitutional taxation continued. This is what ignorance and inattention produce.

Are you familiar with Tom DeWeese? He's been on the forefront for a long time regarding Agenda 21, the driving force behind much of what is happening. One of the first things you should do is insist on seeing their oaths of office. If they have that, that puts them in common law....I would highly recommend giving National Liberty Alliance's website a look (https://bit.ly/3sP22EJ). Their goal/mission is to get our common law back into OUR courts, take back our common law grand and petit juries and take back the committeeman.
Yeah, my town is run by marxist/communists who are still milking the rona for all it's worth with zoom/webex meetings. You need to find others who want to address these issues intelligently with you. Public school grad here who made it out okay because of a strong family and advanced class work/somewhat solid school districts.
While public education is definitely worse than it was when I went, we need to fix the system for those kids who don’t have other options. Not all families can homeschool due to income and job constraints. Not all families can afford private schools for the same reason. It’s also difficult to teach tech school curriculum at home, and Lord knows we need those skills back in this country sooner rather than later.
Much like those Boston schools deciding not to teach AP anymore, these trends are only hurting those that have potential but can’t afford or arrange a suitable education alternative.
This feels like a limbo period where we don’t have a good solution to the problems we are seeing, but to celebrate people needing to leave a failing public school system feels wrong.

People can be very creative if they CHOOSE to be and find it important enough to keep their children away from the public fool system. I'd love to see a few households in each neighborhood pool their resources (whatever that looks like) and share the burden. The public fool system will NEVER hold a candle to what interested, involved and dedicated parents can do. This is part of taking our country back.
When public schools close down, our country's future is more secure. So our kids aren't indoctrinated to despise America and refuse into defend the Land we call home
