They stole my uncle Bill from me. If I would have been able to go see him he would still be here. He withered away without me or his brother to interact with.
Right there with you brother. My MIL withered away once her assisted living locked down (March 2020) - visitors weren't allowed and the residents could only sit outside their room and talk/yell to each other from their doorways. She was gone by mid-July. The lack of interaction, mental stimulation, and having a reason to look forward to something (even if it's just breakfast with your tablemates) is so detrimental to seniors.
So sorry for your loss. I used to work in Nursing homes as a therapist. Some of my clients were just happy to see someone (even me a stranger) come to visit them. I used to do some quick evaluations with new residents to see if they needed my service. Some of them had a hard time letting me go after the 15 min session. It was hard to leave them when you know they just wanted to talk to someone. In another instance, I had several men who had had strokes that I saw in a group just for socialization to help them use what little language they had left. They would wait a half an hour for me to come before I came to see them. They insisted they be dressed had breakfast and ready for our meeting I had a long drive to see them and we had a snowstorm in my area that prevented me from coming their scheduled meeting day.. the nurse told me when I arrived the following week they all had waited the full hour and a half at our table for me. They were so disappointed when I couldn't make it. Socialization is so important for the elderly. I will NEVER forget what this bogus COVID scare did to so many of them.
It's detrimental to everybody. Whether we choose to acknowledge this fact or not is up to us.
tragic
Heartfelt condolences. So many have suffered and died needlessly because of this evil scam.
perpetrated by the democrat death cult
So sorry ?
So terrible, heartbreaking. Sorry.
You couldn't have pulled him out of the home? For fuck's sake.
We had to work hard to get him in. Neither one of us could care for him.
