Every time they revolt, it ends up in a bloodbath (cf 1789, 1848, the Commune, 1934 etc.). The french people have a very constructive mind and very self-destructive compulsions. They want order but secretly love chaos. That's why the evolution in France is NEVER smooth, it always happens on the verge of the death of the country. It happened multiple times during our almost 16 centuries of history and I feel it will happen once more.
