In 1989 information was released that the primary and ONLY "witness" to admit to the extermination of millions of Jews at the main Nuremberg trial, Rudolph Hoss, had been brutally beaten and tortured for 3 days by British military and his entire family threatened with worse treatment if he didn't "confess". All the others on trial roundly denied having participated in, or having any knowledge of it to the bitter end. This too should have been front page news, but wasn't.
The now publicly available transcripts of the Enigma code break of German communications during this period (1942-44) have been thoroughly vetted and yet, not a single communication ever mentions anything related to extermination plans or gas chambers.

What's very clear, but never discussed in mainstream academia, is that the people of Europe were all very aware of the Ukrainian genocide of 1932-33 where 8-10 million were deliberately starved to death by the Bolsheviks - which is a most inhumane and brutal way to die.
