When you see something so horrible it shocks your mind. It changes who you are. You are faced with a new awful reality that you previously couldn't even imagine.
In order to cope with what you have seen or experienced, there's really only 2 alternatives: God or Satan. There is no going back to your previous, ignorant self.
Too many people choose Satan. They can't deal with the evil in the world so they become evil themselves.
I think this is true, when I was young I was molested by my step father for many years, because of this at six years old I decided I was an atheist slowly moved into Satanism and messed around with witchcraft for a while getting into some demonic stuff, I settled out of that and back to a sort of atheism but still meddled around in Satanism. Only recently, and the 28th will be my 2 year baptismal anniversary, did I allow God to come into my life. Which it took sever abuse at the hands of the American Government for that to happen. Looking back, I can't understand why I decided to turn to Satan as I was never happy and always empty and misrable, meddling with demons contributed to my poor mental health back then I am sure of it. Thank God I am safe now.
Some people when they get the wake up call never take it and dig deeper into satan.

One thing for myself was I attended a Christian school my entire life, the first thing when this had happened I felt like this God they spoke about didn't exist because how could He when this happened to me. The second thing was later on when they had "sex ed" they would speak about how if you were not a virgin you were like an unwrapped gift that was then rewrapped and no one wanted a person like that.
Yes, it’s funny how child molesters really hate children. The “church” has a lot of work to do and it is cleaning itself out. God is wherever you are and within you. I’m thankful this is coming out as I feel a sense of justice each time they are taken down.

If you choose the GOD side, then you agree that the world is very messed up and worthy of being destroyed by God, but he has provided a Savior to buy us some time to reclaim as many souls as possible. Ultimately, God will purge the earth with fire and the righteous will inherit the earth.
if you choose the SATAN side, then you try to use the evil of the world for your own evil purposes, and it doesn't matter who you hurt in the way, because everyone is going to get hurt and die anyway, might as well be you as anyone else doing it. The strongest and smartest evil people will rise to the top, and the weaker souls will have to pay obeisance or they get crushed like little bugs.

It reinforces everything evil that they do. When you convince yourself that you're somehow better or more valuable than another human being, you can reason away any atrocity.
