They have to do that because they are constantly attacked. Just give it to them.
A burner number and email are trivial speed bumps for nefarious actors. I don't buy it.
And I will never suspend my principles or right to privacy. Like that new "patriot" social media website that was being advertised on rsbn, it was full of google trackers and wouldn't work without them, so I don't use it.
The threat isnt a few nefarious actors, the threat is massive DDOS attacks which requires hundreds of thousands of bots to flood the site.
Is it "trivial" to get a burner number for hundreds of thousands of bots? Then have to immediately replace the numbers when the bots and numbers are banned from access?
There's nothing stopping them from ddosing the landing page... and honestly I bypassed the login screen using my adblock but that also happens to block out some content
