I’ve been around here awhile and I know this is going to sound really dumb, but could somebody please tell me what “NSFW” is? Even when you’re creating a new post, there’s a little checkbox for NSFW but, for the life of me, I cannot figure out what that means. Thanks, frens!

Not safe for work. What that means is that the post may potentially contain violence, swearing or nudity.
The point being you don’t want to be have that contant on your computer screen at work. Originally “not safe for work” usually referred to pornography. For example, while you’re at work reading the news during your break you wouldn’t want a pornographic photo to pop up and be visible to other workers.

Thanks for all the replies. No, you seriously have NOT been trolled. I’m a 64 yr old Grandma and retired so I’m really not up on all this stuff. You frens are quick and you maybe don’t realize how fast you go, how many acronyms you use that might be new to old folks like me (can’t believe I’m saying that cuz I don’t feel that old), but I come here for truth and I want to understand everything. I try hard to figure most of this out by myself, but when I can’t I would much rather ask frens (I thought), and get an honest answer, than go searching even Duck Duck Go because I don’t trust anything I read in search engines anymore. Sorry I bothered you guys - I thank those who answered simply and honestly. I won’t bother the rest of you anymore.
