My employer just tipped me off that now that the vaccines are safe and fda approved, I "may" be required to receive the vaccine in the next few months. They "would hope that I would go on my own so that's not the case"
So I need an employee exemption but not depending on it being eua since that is seemingly over with.
You advise your employer they are not FDA approved. That approval they are talking about is for a vaccine that is not out yet its in the testing stage. You also tell your employer absolutely not. Speak out its people always trying to sneak past and saying nothing that will lead us to communism. SAY NO AND ADVISE THEM THE VACCINE IS NOT FDA APPROVED.
I have already told him they will have to force me to take it so I can legally protect myself and my family and I won't willingly go and get it.
I think they will let me go when it comes time even though they need me
Even though this is true, it may not work. They've seen the headlines and heard the soundbites, so in their eyes, there is no chance that it's not actually approved.
Their lawyer would need to agree with you on that point.
Pfizer exemptions build into the approval:

Here is the deal. We and our employers have never dug deep into HIPPA and laws. Everyone is just pushing shit they don’t know. Just like taking your temp at the door. We never agreed to this.
Did your employer change your contact? Yes they did. Does a vaccine change your job in anyway. No it does not. You don’t need the vaccine. Is the employer now going to take full responsibility for any side affects including being sued if you die? If they are asking about medical on you...you have the right to ask about everyone’s medical in the office.
Even if you take the vaccine does it stop COVID. No it does not. Ok. What percentage does it help with COVID? 91% 86%? Where is the numbers on it? And I heard it goes down 6% each month the vaccine sits on the shelf. You have a 99.95% of a full recovery if not taking it. So taking it puts you more at risk.
Last time I’m checked your health is between you and your doctor. Your employer only needs to know if it affects your job performance.
Remember the cure can’t be worse then the disease.
There is some good paperwork for Americanfrontlinedoctors.. https://americasfrontlinedoctors.org/legal/
Hippa doesn't apply to most situations.
It looks like I'm left to calling their bluff and seeing if they'll force my hand by demanding it or face termination
Its coming. We were asked, persuaded, told to take them on our own for 3 weeks of propaganda-ish emails. Then radio silence for 2 weeks. Then the hammer dropped and the official leagalize HR email came out with a slew of faq’s, forms, etc. They had it in the works the whole time, they just needed to be ‘nice’ and try to soft sell it for a few weeks until they had the lawyers and HR lined up to implement it. I wish all companies that force this shit would go out of business.
Your employer is bluffing. Call his bluff. The vaccine that was approved is NOT available in the U.S. The Pfizer vaccine that IS in the U.S. is still under EUA.
Nothing has changed.
Say you intend to take the approved vaccine once it's available.
