My husband and I have been discussing the thought on humans not getting regular anti-parasitic meds when all the while we deworm our animals.
I really think it is a larger conspiracy directly related to big pharma. If parasites and worms can cause numerous, mysterious issues and illnesses, big pharma comes to the rescue with a new drug for your skin condition, or fatigue, or bloating, ad nauseam.
My mother in law recently mentioned to me that her mother used to give all her kids some meds every so often for worms. I guarantee she wasn’t the only mom in the 50’s doing this. So when did this stop? And why?
It's probably because animals eat stuff off the ground. Think logically. Animals don't have hands or awareness of these things, so they're just taking on whatever is there.
I've never had a dog get worms when he wasn't allowed to eat stuff off the ground. I have gotten worms as a kid because I was putting dirt in my mouth.
Yeah it really depends on the lifestyle. Did you run around barefoot a lot? Then you probably got ring worm. Lots of variables like this and your lake example etc.
As a child in the late 60s/early 70s my mother still gave us meds for worms in the spring and fall and anytime we got diarrhea. Dont know what meds and she cant recall now. The doctor who gave it to her was a friend of the family and is 30+ years dead.
It was a liquid and quite disgusting. Dont know if it was a prescription or homeopathic. Probably the latter since we always had it around.
Then couple the realization that we're seldom treated for parasites with the fact that knowledge of parasitic infection in humans is completely normal. Mind-blowing.
Ringworm is common, toxoplasmosis is well known, and apparently you can predict the top performing soccer players in the world based on who has the most fucking cat poop brain worms in them...

I'm not strongly anti- or pro-vax (I'm against untested genetic injections, for damn sure, though), but this kind of stuff is incredibly (and, for the conspiracy-minded, maybe even you could say "intentionally") discrediting to the "anti-vax" cause.
Roughly all of these diseases are spread person-to-person by mucous, not through sub-standard water sources or trash systems.

We anchored and pretended to have a port visit while military doctors came on board and gave us big green pills. 3500 men got a parasites including me. Food born. They dewormed us monthly for the entire 10 month deployment.
