I want my public servants to be surveilled while on the job. And if they don't want to be then I don't want them to be public servants.
Now I don't want constant 24 hour scrutiny. In fact we can put in provisions to prevent using it to micro manage. That's fine. But no surveillance is not an option.
Don't overreact to ideas like this. A camera in a children's classroom is no different than adult supervision. Yes, only faculty and the parents of the children involved should have access, but these are children we're talking about. They need protection from creeps and weirdos.
We had cameras on our buses when I was growing up - it started in the early 90s. Or at least they said there camera 🤣 it was probably a bluff. We had a blinking black box above the driver.
1.Yes children need protection from creeps and weirdos - and it is also the reason to not install camera which could be hacked or accessed by such ones.Reality is "only faculty and parents" is not real due to technology and its vulnerabilities.
2.Main problem are creeps and weirdos not lack of camera
3.No,it is not overreacting. We cannot allow cameras everywhere including our houses. People, were you ever reading 1984 ?!!!
We already have security cameras everywhere, for decades. I think security cameras in classrooms are fine, but for that purpose only: security. If a teacher or student is doing something illegal then it is perfectly okay for law enforcement to review the footage and make the proper arrests. Live streaming it might go a little too far, mainly because it violates the privacy of the students. For teachers I could care less about their privacy during working hours that we all pay for.
There is a right place for cameras. They protect both parties in most cases. Daycares, and schools are public paces that have no constitutional promise of privacy. Watch some of the first amendment Auditors on YT. Who’s privacy is violated by a camera in a HS classroom full of OUR kids? It’s been cameras that are finally exposing all this crap!
Agree. Cameras are a nonstarter due to privacy issues among students and there's too many unintended consequences associated with cameras in the classroom. A better idea is to allow students to use their cell phones (or other device) to record lessons. Back in the old days we used to take record lectures in college so we could go back and review what the professor said. Recording devices should be allowed IMO. If the teacher has nothing to hide, and is sticking to the adopted curriculum, then what's the harm? This allows parents to hear what's being said if they so choose without violating privacy rights associated with FERPA.
Pot, meet kettle.
Why run from communism right into a fascist dystopian surveillance state?
Cameras in classrooms is a dumb idea.
EXACTLY...
restore classic Education and staff schools with qualified and fully vetted teachers
Who vets them and determines if they're qualified or not?
not fucking communists
How do we ensure that is the case? Unlike the current batch we have which the people surely didn't put there intentionally.
Or remind them they are on camera.
Real simple. The students can do it

How is placing cameras in public places where anyone can already see exactly what you're doing an invasion of privacy?
I HAVE A RIGHT TO JACK OFF IN PUBLIC AND GET AWAY WITH IT DAMMIT!
Because of FERPA. A student with disabilities misbehaves in class for all to see is a violation of privacy. That’s just a single example.
The footage doesn't need to be available to everybody. Only the parents of the children in the footage and others it may concern need access.
Aren't tards already supposed to be in their own class anyway?
Monero is our path back to sovereignty
Cuz that's way harder than...talking to your kids lol. They all have phones. If something is worthy of recording they can whip em out.

By the way: I know McAfee is probably LARP but watch this: https://www.iatkos.in/2021/07/whackd-q.html
let me quote this:
Of course it is completely against ingersoll lockwood narration about masks but read this and think about this anyway - even if it is larp.

Okay why? And how does this become a dystopian surveillance state?
Same argument was made against body cams. The data didn't agree.
Then tell your kid to strap on a body cam.
