Whenever I compared Progressive auto to other insurers, they were either the same as or more expensive, so I don't know what all the hoopla was about, except they had an extensive marketing campaign. Same with Geiko, whom I learned the hard way is deceptive about their 'save 15%' marketing gimmick.
Anyway, Progressive's un-jabbed surcharge doesn't surprise me as the same was done to smokers back in the 1990s.
Funny, my experience has been pretty much Progressive always having the best rate by far for me except for a bad time in life, due to worse decisions that reflected on my driving record, I switched to another company. Now that several things have dropped of my record, Progressive is back to the cheapest.
I discovered that location can affect the insurance rate, so that could have something to do with the differences we experienced. Also the type of vehicle being insured if one is carrying collision and comprehensive. I've found that Farmers is the least expensive by far as it literally cut my annual expense in half.
Yes, location makes a huge difference, even within the same state. I use my sisters address in a more rural area which saves me about, I'm not sure now but when I "moved" a few years back, it was $100 cheaper a month. That was a fairly infraction heavy driving record however, and now being more or less clean would probably be a negligible difference.
Except for a year with another company, and a few years of a suspended license, I've been with Progressive since the 90s.
With the exception mentioned above with another company, they've always had the best rates for me.
With this tidbit shared, I may shop around, but not likely to switch unless it's at least the same price.
Well, you can bet Progressive isn't the only insurance company doing this. As a driver that requires insurance, I'd prefer to minimize the money I'm indirectly supporting leftists with.
I do, but I won’t very soon.
Thanks
Dumped them several years ago when I found out they were Soros connected.

Do people seriously get insurance off the marketing campaign
have you ever had a twitter or fakebook account? Have you ever seen a tik tok vid?
Yes, those people exist in far larger numbers than I'm comfortable with...
Yeah. I suppose you are right. Makes no sense fo me but hey thats why Im here
I still have yet to see anyone explain how a Pure Blood is a danger to a GMO person.
except the surcharge for smoking is based on 50 years of data showing they do, in fact, have higher carrying costs due to health effects of smoking.
for anyone being charged, demand they prove the cost. otherwise it's ideological discrimination.
If I had it I would have dumped it due to that annoying broad. They think the commercials are funny. They also think we are stupid.
No where near as bad as Geico commercials!
Nice fucking symbolism, Flo.
What would be a good alternative?
That is for you to decide. I use my local Farm Bureau agency.
I'm thru Liberty paid 425 full year 50k/100k

"Progressive" is literally the name of their company. I'm sure they appreciate every dollar you send them so they can keep donating money to leftists.
