They made him out to be some crazed vigilante. He was just a freedom loving man protecting communities with help from the actual people who it affected the most.
A bunch of years ago, he was sitting behind me on a flight (coach) from EWR to SFO. He was wearing his red beret and was very friendly. All I can say is that I felt goodness from him.
A week or two ago there was a video of him doing a little speech in front of a city building, small crowd. A homeless guy crashed and started a small scene. Started crying and Silwa 'comforted' him. I don't know much about the guy, but that whole thing seemed very staged and was pretty cringey. Just my 2 cents. He might be a great guy, but I wouldn't jump to any conclusions without checking him out more.
I met with him several times when he brought the Guardian Angels to my town. He genuinely seemed concern with the safety of the residents of the town and he seemed to be a straightforward guy.
The local police department chased the guardian angels away, which led to a worsening of the crimes that they were willing to try to prevent.
He was made fun of in the 80s but he was right.

Silwa was more than a member. He started the Guardian Angels.

It's a setup, a classic bait and switch. You vote for the adorable cat then, Wham-O, you get the illuminati. Happens all the time.
Plenty of people use the eye in the sky/Horus symbolism without knowing what it actually symbolizes.

Yeah, I saw that not knowing who he was. I still think it looked staged, but I've never heard anything bad about Guardian Angels that I recall.
He has been around forever and helping his community, as far as I know. He started the Guardian Angels in the late 70 early 80s I think.
The cat is cool, much better behaved than mine. But Sliwa is a Trump hater.

I'm sure Tuna secretly laughs at him, as all cats do to their human lessers. Sliwa's republican rival, Fernando Mateo, is a Trump supporter.
Watch this! It is all you need to know that Sliwa is the man for NYC Mayor. https://survivalmagazine.org/news/amazing-moment-republican-nyc-mayoral-candidate-embraces-homeless-man-who-interrupted-his-press-conference/
