All my former "friends" swallowed the blue pill, and it swelled up to fill their entire body cavity and their skull. Global warming, socialism, rainforests, whales, orangemanbad, US is oppressive and bossy, everything gay and queer, etc., etc. Cigarettes and alcohol, all day long. Yuck.

That is not using God's name in vain. It means to perform bad acts in the name of God, such as what almost all TV preachers do and probably the Pope too.
Sorry but this is not true. The word vain in Hebrew means “empty” “worthless” “Nothing” or “For no good purpose”. Using His name in a way that serves no good purpose is wrong. However this command is most likely also specifically talking about the proper name of God “YHWH”. But in the end its all about where a persons heart is at when they say something anyway. Arguments like the one you put forward only excuse behavior that doesnt really edify us anyway so why not try to maintain a holy heart in our speech as well. After all James tells us that the tongue is the rudder that controls our whole body.
How about you let God deal with this? People like you are the reason people hate God. Go back to the First Testament if you want. I’m operating on grace. God knows I human and sent his son, not you, to save humanity.
