One dude commented more than once that the guy had a weapon (knife); someone else agreed with him. The guy drops something as he's grabbed, and the cop to the right picks it up; I can't tell what from the video, and I haven't found any detailed articles or posts about this incident.

This is heartbreaking.. I hope something good happens for them soon, poor Aussies are really getting hammered left and right. I have an old friend who lives there, sent me a news article the other day on how they decided unvaxxed kids can have a "bubble buddy" or a friend set they are allowed to hang out with, provided both sets of parents are vaccinated, and don't interact with each other. It's overkill to the max.

It seems kind of obvious that Australian law enforcement has been cultivating people that are not interested in 'protect and serve', but just want a job where they can beat people up. Obviously they could have grabbed the guy's arms and handcuffed him and walked him away. But what would be the fun in that?
