I guess it's different with guys, you can beat each other up and be OK with each other the next day. From this woman's standpoint, that's not a friend. If you choose to hang out with him again, make sure it's at your house and make sure you have a firearm ready for self-defense. Nobody has the right to pummel you for having a difference of opinion.
It's not like this with grown men, contrary to popular belief. It is with younger boys, typically because their brains aren't developed and they're still figuring out how to handle all the hormones and testosterone
Well that's good. From a female point of view, I'd have a very hard time forgiving someone for physically assaulting me, especially over a difference of opinion.
Wear proper gloves and wrist support. I practice kick boxing and during a rather...animated heavy bag workout I was wearing cheaper gloves with harder padding and lackluster wrist support and banged my wrist up, got a cyst from the natural el in my wrist area being squeezed out. Lost some mobility in my thumb that has been coming back.
Not sure about fist fighting and being ok the next day. We can certainly call each other faggot or asshole and be ok. We can also call each other out on our bullshit and be ok. IDK. I never got in a fistfight with a friend.

Exactly. The behavior OP described is that of a child throwing a tantrum.

My childhood in a nutshell. Man I miss having a mountain bike.
agree - me and my best friend used to regularly have fights in the manner described. We were late teens but it was really just childishness.
