Exactly. It's up to the individual, not doctrine. I posted about this yesterday regarding military chaplains and how they get to decide the sincerity of beliefs for anyone wanting a religious exemption. It's not up to them!

"For example, Pope Francis has said taking the vaccine is "an act of love" and consistent with the Catholic faith, but that doesn't nullify a Catholic service member's claim that it goes against his or her beliefs to receive the vaccine.
"It's not just about what the denomination thinks -- it's the belief of the individual," Ryan said. "You can be Catholic and disagree with the Catholic Church on that and it's still a sincerely held religious belief."
Believers also do not have to be affiliated with an established, mainstream religion or denomination to qualify for exemption. For example, Ryan said if an individual claimed the Holy Spirit told them not to receive a vaccine, that belief could also be enough to grant a religious exemption if a chaplain is convinced of the service member's sincerity."
The article specifically says one does not ask the chaplain for an exemption, one claims the exemption. It is a free decision of conscience -- it is NOT up to anyone else to confirm or deny.
Not saying they still won't steam roller one's God given rights!!
You should read the entire issue if possible, as it explains the moral conscience. snippets:
" . . practical reason makes evident that vaccination is not, as a rule, a moral obligation, and that, therefore, it must be voluntary."
"This right to choose is itself intrinsically good and is part of being in the image and likeness of God. As such, this right to choose is more important than the power of authority to impose a mandate about a human institution." [don't worry it explains that conscience is to choose good and abortion is intrinsically evil.]
so-called "common good": . . . the individual good of each person can never contradict the good common to all; and the common good can never violate the good of an individual. . . . an individual good and the common good are not opposed, cannot be in opposition, and the common good derives from the individual good."
"common good" - this is something that I find so hard to deal with when I speak to other people. Some people believe we should a be vaxxed because "one death is one too many." I asked them if they drive a car.
OK then, obesity is a matter of common good. The most vocal people in favour of the mandates are obese, in my experience. Why should people who look after their bodies be responsible for fatties who cannot control their eating habits?
Thank You!
Right on.
A free man does not ask for his rights; he asserts them.
YES!!
So your employer makes you answer 8 groundless invasive questions in an online form. What is your answer for them ?
"I AM NOT WILLING TO DESCRIBE MY RELIGIOUS BELIEFS FOR THE REASONABLE FEAR THAT IT WILL ENGENDER DISCRIMINATION AGAINST ME AND/OR MY FAMILY."
It is none of their business. All questions can be answered with: "deeply personal and religious reasons".
Employers making decisions about one's religious beliefs?? What qualifications could they possibly have to do that?? Attempting to do that is itself a violation of the 1st Amendment and God's creation.
Just because they print up a form does not make it valid. They might still "enforce" and that is when you need an attorney to keep your job. But you do NOT have to give in to their egregious questions.
I know it is not easy out there! Prayers to all facing tyranny, which trades feeding your family for conscience. I noted that was one of the most evil aspects of the totalitarian communist and nazi regimes. FORCE one into evil against conscience merely to live!!
👍
"In accordance with the doctrines of the Catholic Church, the use of vaccines is not a moral obligation and belongs to the discretionary conscience of each person to accept it. I have a strong aversion to the use of the COVID vaccine for deeply personal and religious reasons. Therefore, I have chosen not to take the vaccine, and I consider it discriminatory if I am forced to receive it in order to keep my job." this is the suggested statement they recommend to give to church officials who mandate, but it seems universal . . .
sauce: Christifidelis issue Vol. 39, No. 4. This issue is not yet on their web site.
This seems applicable for any denomination.
YES because moral conscience is from GOD and is superior to the assertions of any and all man-made institutions.
Replying to this so I can come back if I need this. Thanks fren.
The entire article should come up on their web page soon. I think you can register and read their articles. I just got this in the mail, 1 Nov 2021 issue.
