Just a thought the longer jury takes to come up with a verdict the better it's going to be for Kyle. That would indicate to me that they're having a hard time getting out 12 people to agree that this is not self defense. Grid locked juries usually end up in a mistrial. It's only been a couple days but that's still a good sign. If it was a simple slam Dunk case They would have already come back with a guilty verdict.

I suspect it IS a slam-dunk case -- Kyle is so obviously innocent by reason of self-defense that it makes my head spin -- but as we've heard, two of the jurors are afraid (and with good reason, I think) that they personally will suffer from the Deep-State-enhanced blowback from the insane left.
In the end, Kyle walks one way or another. I hope; the surprising "election" of Sleepy Sleazy Joe proves that in Clown World, anything can happen.
Its a slam-dunk... but something stinks.
Now that the prosecution got caught sending the defense altered videos, they are pushing for a "mistrial without prejudice" so they can get a second crack at Rittenhouse. This was a planned move that helped the prosecution on two points:
The whole trial was a bunch of hail mary's for the prosecution... to see what could stick. And now they present their reset button since they know what worked the first time... and what did not.
Well, that's a horrible thought. Here's hoping the openly malicious prosecution team gets shut down on this one.
Here's hoping the openly malicious prosecution team gets disbarred.
Yes! Much better.
It actually appears that the judge gave a win/not lose situation for Kyle. He basically said. we will hear the verdict, if it's not guilty, great. If they say guilty, he will do a mistrial (without prejudice).
Yes the judge can absolutely overrule the jury and I don't believe he is in fear he already has protection from the police and marshals If the jury comes back without anything less than not guilty or a mistrial hes going to overrule them for sure you are correct
Any source for that? I have not heard that anywhere, he still has not ruled on the motion for mistrial with prejudice. I cannot imagine him making a comment like that while jury is deliberating.
The source is the live stream. He only appears a few times today so rewatch it and look for the judge. Sorry I don't have a timestamp. It was fairly close to 3or 4pm
Yet no just his actions he has yelled at the prosecution so many times for doing so many stupid things and now the altered video. Just my thoughts the judge can overrule the jury he knows this was self defense
What it indicates to me is that there are fucking cowards in their midst, otherwise the deliberation would've taken all of 10 minutes.
juror: "So he's obviously innocent right guys?" everyone: "yep"
It was a simple slam dunk case, that he obviously defended himself.
Mistrial gives the prosecution another chance.
Not if it's mistrail "with prejudice."
Correct, but we're talking about a hung jury (OP said "grid locked jury", but the actual term is "hung jury").
In the event of a hung jury, a mistrial is declared. That allows the prosecution to try the case again with a new jury. A hung jury does not result in "mistrial with prejudice."
Good point; rules for mistrial are more complex than I knew. It appears there ARE circumstances where a "with prejudice" mistrial can be declared, though:

Right, but again that's not what we're talking about here. "Mistrial with prejudice" means the prosecutor or judge did something so egregious that a fair trial is impossible. It's debatable whether or not that occurred with the video resolution issue, but the judge decided to proceed with the case.
A hung jury results in a mistrial, but it's not a "mistrial with prejudice." That just means the jury couldn't reach a unanimous decision. It's not some egregious wrongdoing.
If the end result is a hung jury, then the prosecution can try again with a new jury.
If the crookid tries again I would say the judge would dismiss that shit.
A hung jury results in a mistrial, and the prosecutor is able to try the case again with a new jury.
It's not up to the judge at that point.
If they couldn't make it stick the 1st time what would make them think they can make it stick the 2nd time. It will only be harder for the prosecution the 2nd time around the whole world is watching this right now on Live TV. It is going to be very hard to get any 12 jurors To come to the conclusion that this was not self defense yes there might be people threatened but there's no way they got to all 12 of them
You're correct.
In most cases the prosecutor voluntarily drops the charges after a mistrial. But he doesn't have to. If they're trying to make an example out of Kyle, they might give it another shot, although I think that's unlikely.
