I grew up in the 80s and 90s and get the gist of this post however what is being missed with this post is that the commies used this comfortable way of life to infiltrate all of our institutions. They played the long game and won while we were asleep, fat and happy. I long for the good old days. Simpler times. We will have good times again. But these cocksucking commies must never be allowed to do this again. Anyone that pushes this shit needs executed.
Well my folks got into politics and tired to warn people and fight it. But they sounded like wack jobs when they tried to warn us. “The state is going to try to take your kids and force them into state run preschools and you won’t have any say in what they are taught”, “You cannot be a Democrat and a Christian because of their stance on abortion”, “They are putting a bunch of gays in high positions and they are going to kick out all the good people and fill those spots with more gays.” You can’t believe how crazy this sounded at the time.

There were plenty of films with subversive messages as far back as the 60s. This was on of the few wholesome family entertainment films before the agenda really kicked off.
Yeah really. Having Been there for the 80s and 90s, the 90s were the mass saturation of pessimism and snarky, sarcastic humor.
The 80s were far more hopeful. Though we know that was just a reaction to the doom and gloom of the 70s, which of course was a reaction to how the peace and love generation burnt out at the end of the 60s which..........

of course you could go well well into the past - every form of mass communication humanity has managed to create has been a cosmic struggle between those who worship God and those who follow satan. This was true when the alphabet was invented (aka Cuneiform), the printing press, the phonograph, the transistor radio, tv, internet, social media, mobile phone. now with 5g and near orbit satelllite internet carpeting every inch of the planet, we are about to enter the next phase. i guess things have just accelerated because of technology being able to communicate at the speed of light. certainly couldn't do that when I was a kid
The gulf war stated in 91 and that's when everything started going to shit under the cover of chants of USA USA USA because we "beat" Iraq. Little did we know this was the start of everything really coming apart.
More: George HW Bush was supposed to beat Reagan in the primary but did not and became VP instead. Reagan's 1st term was where the big destructive push was supposed to start. Bush was elected as Reagan's 3rd term but quickly unpopular and lost public support so the DS switched horses to new & fresh Bill Clinton for '92. Agenda was back on track and the 90s boomed. Anyone in the workface was able to build a lifestyle they would fight to keep. If you got into the NYC-DC tiers you'd fight even harder as the perks & pay were way better. And that's what we're dealing with now. While lifestyles cratered for average Americans they have not for the political, financial, or media classes. They will not let go of the hold they have.
I was born in the early 80s and things are a lot different now. Maybe we can get that back. God is merciful.
Great movie. I used to watch this every time I went to my grandma's house as a kid. Good times. Simpler times. I pray we can go back to that soon.

Weird - just watched this the other day with my family and thought the same thing. The movie would never be made today.
I grew up with star wars, Alien and Terminator.
Those movies has well placed female and black characters. Even watching them as an adult, I don't see any forced feminist bullshit with Ripplee or Sarah Connor. Bad ass girls and good characters. Now it's disgusting the amount of weird inclusion, historical fiction and anti white male agenda.
All the better for turning audiences off. The Critical Drinker on YT does a good job of ripping through this BS.

I've been re-watching Northern Exposure, and it feels therapeutic for me. The slower pace alone is helpful.
Even at this point (1991), I was working and listening to Rush Limbaugh and other AM radio personalities to stay sane. The world was screwed up then, too. My grandmother (born 1910), was sad at how bad things were at the time. Basically, when they removed God from schools and culture, our morals went into the toilet.
In the UK the rot set in when they stopped playing the national anthem in public places (cinemas, concert halls) and National Service was abolished.

Arguably, "Ren N Stimpy" was pretty fucked up, even though I personally liked it as a kid, but it probably shouldn't have been shown to little kids.
-90-99% of LJN video games, particularly on NES, were absolute garbage. For reference, I refer you to a good chunk of AVGN episodes.
So we're clear, I'm not saying there wasn't some great things about the 90s, and even with my fucked up childhood, I have some pretty fond memories of that time period, but it had its dark moments as well. The problem is that everything that's happening right now is immediate, so it feels more real to us than the problems of the past were. Even for us old timers who lived through them, are vague and far away.
Honestly, I think the most surreal thing for me is that the conservatives are the ones laughing and telling jokes and having a good time while the leftists are the moralists and the prudes trying to shame everyone for not being as 'moral' as they are, lol.
