I’ve seen this hashed out before but what are the current thoughts on a vpn not controlled by the five eyes?
Have used ExpressVPN to this point but don’t think they’re that great.
I would consider myself slightly above average technically so if there’s a solution that requires some limited add’l configuration, I’d be willing to try it.
Thanks Pedes.
If you're using it to protect yourself from State powers, it's not worth the effort. They already know everything about you, including how many hairs are on your scrotum if you're that kind of guy with your phone.
If you're concerned about identity theft, I wouldn't be using ExpressVPN. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teddy_Sagi#Kape_Technologies_plc You can scream "Mossad" now.
Every last one of them is compromised at this point, but if I had to use ONE, I'd be using ProtonVPN. Be aware they were forced to fold to State powers very recently, but for holding out the longest and having current existing policies that don't make them corrupt pieces of shit, they win in my book.

Also it's free, so you're not wasting money.

"Ethics" is the only table that matters, followed by Leak Protection. Just an FYI.
Ignore "NordVPN," table comes from Reddit, they paid for the endorsement$. They put an astronomical amount of cash into marketing. I don't trust anyone that hires shills. That's also my bias speaking, since they have paid shills, so it's ultimately up to you as an option.
I have had good luck with Proton. I have to disable it for some things because it oftem makes me appear to be in Japan or Europe, anywhere but where I am.
My computer pops up with shiite for my locale, except it's off by thousands of miles more often than not.
People will tell you it doesn't help but oh yeah it does, most of the asinine would be hackers can't defeat it, it blows up marketing scammers clocking you and yeah, it works well for what it is.
PIA private internet access is what I use.
Same but the browser extension (used when at work) is buggy af.
Once in a while, I have to change vpn location (easy to do), because some sites don’t work. Once I change location, everything is good again.
Correct. I just wish I had done a little more research since this has been a known issue for quite some time now. I would have chosen a different provider.
I pay 100 a year for IVPN. Haven't had any letters/problems since getting it & I've been using it for 4+ years.
Don't Use a VPN...it's not the ultimate security fix you've been told

Short video to explain why.
Yes, there are use cases that a VPN is good such as watching content that you can't in your country or trying to access things on the Internet that you're unable to get to from your country, but it's really not going to help you as far as privacy.
So much this. Everything that you have, that is connected to the internet, is a bug.
Period.
Past a certain threshold of power, they have absolutely everything on you. Proves Q is real, we haven't all been killed yet lol.
I use SurfShark as it says it's no logs, I believe it is still independent and not been bought out by any bigger firms, it also has a multi hop encryption.
I have barely signed up for surfshark and testing it this week
I like it, works well for me. As for it's no logs privacy etc, only time will tell.
If you have an Alexa it’s fruitless
If you have a cell phone it’s fruitless. Alexa is no different.
