That would make to much sense.
Then you would have that one guy in the corner with a sponsor sign that says "City of XYZ". The people actually paid for his campaign and really elected him...

What would make more sense is to get rid of dysfunctional, profiteering, self serving, premium health care plan and self salary raising Congress. Wouldn’t it make more sense for states to pay the salaries and subject them to the health care plan of state government workers and give raises via the state only if they are doing the job they were voted to do?
Accountability?! Can't have that. I suggest rules that limit or stop congress from accepting campaign contributions from parties they gave large sums of money to such as defense contractors, major corporations and foreign powers.
That and bar insider trading being allowed by congress, 100% grift of official powers.
