20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Didn't he specifically tell Magdalene go and sin no more? Also, I'm pretty sure the Book of Revelation is pretty much the manifest destruction of mankind's sin finally pissing God off one too many times without an inkling of repentance.
He did say this to a variety of people, including a man He healed who was crippled, and a woman caught in adultery (in John) after He told her He would not her He would not condemn her.
Yeah he also said “who is left to accuse you?” And then he said “neither do i accuse you”. So theres an obvious balance of Jesus various ways of dealing with different situations. But the Bible does say Jesus’ heart (or his core being) is “gentle and humble“ Matt 11:29. Thats not to say he isnt also other things at other times but it is his default setting if you will
[10].....Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
[11] She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Isn't this really a mis-translation? Not tryna be an asshole, but I think "kill" is the generally accepted translation, but is actually incorrect, and that the correct translation is "murder".
Again, not trying to be an asshole. If I am wrong, please tell me I am wrong. No worries, you won't hurt my feelings.
"Kill" meant murder at the time the KJV was translated.
"Smite" and "slay" is lawful and/or accidental killing, and can mean anything from "justifiable homicide" to "involuntary manslaughter", depending on context.
Here's a link to Numbers 35, which lays down the rules regarding "manslayers" and "murderers."
It breaks down the differences between involuntary manslaughter and death, and even discusses what we would refer to as premeditated first degree murder-
20 But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die;
If the manslayer claims he killed someone unintentionally, he had to flee to one of six cities as outlined in the above chapter until he was either tried and convicted of his crimes (which required 2 or more witnesses) or until the current high priest died, at which point he was free to return to his native city.
This is not an either / or but a both / and. Notshirley78 is right that it involves a change of attitude- but that change also includes a change of action. Repentance includes both changing our attitude about sin - to agree with God about it's deadly nature, and change of action- Go and sin no more.
change your Attitude is the meaning of repent. If you change your Attitude to what you do..like stealing from someone then you won't do it again and you will feel happy ..no longer weighed down by fear of being found out or punished etc. So no longer missing the mark of being happy. It's a very simple thing...people dragging in hell etc ..adding fear ignorance and stupidity to thecmix is unnecessary.
One point here: the self-righteous he often pointed out the sin of, and Lisa W is in a class of the most self-righteous people that currently exist- The Vaxxed. There are exceptions to this, but the most vocal vaccinated people are also the ones calling down curses on the unvaxxed and their children. (even if they already have natural immunity)
Matthew 23
2 “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, 3 so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they (the majority of them) do. For they preach, but do not practice. 4 They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. 5 They do all their deeds to be seen by others.
OTOH There were those Pharisees who were supportive of Jesus and one even was told "You are not far from the Kingdom of Heaven." Matthew 22:34-40, Mark 5: 21- 43, Mark 12:28 - 34 .
Some things don't change...until the world is new.
A better question would be how many times did Jesus forgive a sinner without a strong rebuke of the sin?
Maybe she should try asking the Pharisees what a nice man Jesus was while he was calling them out in public as being, John.8 [44]...of your father the devil, or
Matt.23
[27] ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Jesus is indeed a loving man. But he is never short on strong rebukes where they are needed. And that includes overturning tables and whipping the sinners with a rope of cords.

I was waiting and hoping for your response.
Well done.

A simple Google search would have told you that it was not Magdalene.

Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori.
Sweet and correct/just/appropriate it is to die for one's country.
Ohh. The Pro Patria thing reminded me of a military regiment motto wondered if you were a canadian vet

So I have learned something. Thank you.
Was expecting some haggling.
Slay as well can in Hebrew mean “take an inheritance with”
Not everyone one finds Cain can kill him he could only die once but everyone who find Cain can take an inheritance with him. To find: to do the same
Right on. His message everywhere he went was, "Repent, for the Kingdom is at hand. Gee, sounds like he is talking about sin now doesn't it?
repent would mean to change your thinking to his truth and be sorry you missed the mark of so doing
No one ever said "repent of your attitude." It's always "repent of your sins."
