It seems that there is a possibility that someone on our side swiped the evidence. If there is a "plan," then it would hinge upon good guys having access to the same blackmail that the cabal/DS has, and using it to pressure people from the opposite direction. It would certainly explain some of the weird things we have seen.
The article states Episteins Lawyer later brought the CD’s and Hard drives to the FBI Agent’s office… why was he allowed to take them in the first place? I wonder what data was removed and if copies were made…

No idea. I'm pretty sure it was all a larp. Nothing happened after the countdown. And his telegram channel (not that I use telegram) has been posting a bunch of old stuff we've seen years ago.
Everyone knows if you have important electronic data, the first thing to do is make multiple back-ups and disperse them in hidden locations.
So if one of your copies are compromised you can always retrieve the data at a later time when its safe to do so. that's just basic.
