Years later while doing my first job, when I herd that Java was running on 1 billion devices, I threw up a little in my mouth.
Haha I too was an avid c/c++ programmer in the mid 90s. They even set up this government-sponsored tech ‘hangout’ on the main street of my city where you could learn Java for free on Sun Microsystems machines.
Did the tutorials, built the applet.. thought “this is the gayest programming language I’ve ever had this misfortune to familiarise myself with”.

I agree. I think a lot of ideas in the language were great, but overall it really sucked. Something did bother me a lot though, tell me what you think.
The APIs, the documentation and number of classes in even the first release was huge and extensive. It was really hard to believe that a group of people just managed to create it in under 2 years. It would be something that would have been developed as an open open source project in a couple of years with a large number of contributors and many iterations. OR, it must have been developed behind closed doors for a very long time.
I don't recall clearly now, but from what I remember, it was developed internally by SUN and was not an open source project until that first release. This makes me think it was a DARPA tech being released to public, but had been developed long before.
Also, after Java, Sun slowly just disappeared into the sunset - almost like they finished their destined task and were not needed anymore.
The internet going down would not be good as we already know for obvious reasons, but to me the biggest one is the fact the MSM would be free to put out their propaganda unchallenged.
While some people are giddy for the downfall of the Internet, I am probably not as excited, for with the Internet, I can stay informed on top of so many different topics and things of interest and note. The Internet is the reason why I have became a Trump Supporter, a MAGA-man, and ever-refusing the clot shot. I guarantee you that many people who are awake to all of this corruption and evil in the world will not be awake without the Internet giving them alternate sources of information.

When they start reporting how much data has been stolen or hacked, get ready for phase 2 of the vaccine passport push. We will all need a conclusive identifier at the store checkout line to prove who we are!
I think that the repetitive data theft is to finally get the public to acquiesce to some sort of blockchain identifier or a "secure chip" possibly an implant. The same unique identifier could of course be used for vax ID. Kind of like the same way they hope false flags will eventually get the public to demand "gun control".
That said, there are a lot of areas in the US where this won't even fly. I recently moved from DC to NC and the employees in the major chain grocery store don't even wear masks for the most part, nor do shoppers. Less than 25% wearing them. Compare to NoVA, where 75%+ are masked and probably vaxxed.
