Trump has to remain neutral on everything. From his perspective, he is saying he doesn't want to happen to anyone or their family what happened to him and his family while in office.
This is a big nothingburger as far as I am concerned but y'all can chicken-little over it I guess.

Besides, it'll be the truth. It isn't Trump's job to personally investigate Hunter Biden, but it is someone else's. ;-)
Why can't he just say it's not the President's responsibility to investigate people? Like if he just phrased it that way it wouldn't sound so demoralizing to us.

What has President Trump been consistently doing ever since January 6th? He has been distancing himself from everything in the political realm. Why has he done this? The reason is that President Trump cannot be seen as the one person solely responsible for what is to come. He had to take himself out of the picture completely. The Fall of the Cabal is going to be Global, and Biblical. It cannot rest on the shoulders of one man, or be seen to do so.
Those crying "I lost my trust in Trump" have missed the point entirely. This was never about President Trump. President Trump was the catalyst we needed to get things moving. He has deliberately stepped aside now in order to let the White Hats work, and to allow We the People the opportunity to get the job done.
If you ever trusted President Trump, now is the time to put that trust to work. Don't be a springtime or summertime Patriot. Be the patriot that is willing to stand watch when the snow is falling, the wind is blowing, and icicles are growing on your chin. Those are the kind of Patriots that President Trump needs right now.
Always consider the strategy of what President Trump does. Everything has meaning.

Trump said “I don’t want to hurt a family, I’ll be honest”. He didn’t say “I wouldn’t go after” Beijing Joe and his crack addict son. Optics are important.
Maybe they threatened his family if he goes after Biden's family
If there were any real credible threat to Trump or is family, I don’t think he would have ever run for POTUS. I think Trump and his family are well protected by white hats.
Wasn’t there a clip where Hunter’s voice is heard saying he accepted a plea deal? Think about it, Hunter essentially hands over a treasure trove of evidence against his father and family. Almost concurrently his sister “loses” her diary.
Trump might be sending a signal to Hunter out in the open. Or, there is no need for an investigation because it is already done.

That makes no sense at all because any person you arrest has a family that is hurt.
The only thing I can figure is Trump is signaling any investigations into Hunter did not come from him or was not influenced by him.
Trump's part in this great saga may well be over and done. He deserved to be booed for that and a few other things as well.

HE won't. But others will. He's not in "charge" of any investigation or responsible for any outcome from those investigations. That way no one can accuse him of doing exactly what the Democrats are doing. Weaponizing the judicial system to target people for personal revenge.
I wonder if Trump won't investigate Hunter in his second term because by the time Trump returns to office, the Bidens will already be dealt with by the military
