I've been following MedBed tech since I learned about the banded "Rife" tech from the 1950s. Briefly, it causes your own DNA to convert any sick cell back to a healthy cell through sympathetic resonance of frequency. Literally, this means the end to all disease.
Which inturn, means humans can live for hundreds or even thousands of years. Can you imagine how crowded the earth will be if basically nobody dies? The problems that would create?

If you make an electron microscope and put slides of say cancer cells and keep experimenting with frequencies until you get the exact one to explode the cancer cell then you can cure cancer. I, too, have been following medbeds closely. There are different technologies being pursued. True to what you say, there is an "immortality" medbed being tested, but, at this point, is causing psychological problems with the test subjects. It just isn't working like it should.
The other, more practical medbed cures illnesses, cancer, and is even rumored to regrow lost bodyparts such as limbs. It does have the effect of extending life, up to a limit of about 140 years or so. This does, to some degree, cause the problem you noted in your OP. But it also introduces some ethical considerations as well. For example, if one, ill marriage partner takes such treatment, ensuring longer life, what about the other partner? Will they "age" differently, if the procedures aren't performed at the exact time? This type of thing introduces the concept of choosing when one dies...as a result of how long one chooses to live a more comfortable life.
