This has the potential to turn into a conflict defining moment. If he wins this tournament now, it will create an incredible surge of resolve.
If there's anyone who has the mental to do it, it's Djokovic for sure. Might be one of the best Grand Slam wins ever when you consider it also breaks the all time record.
Can he still play? or is it too late?
Considering he's not vaxxed, there's a chance he could be the last man standing at the end

UPDATE: Novak will play.

He can still play, as long as the federal Minister for Immigration and Migrant Services, Alex Hawke does not do what he threatened to do, and that is to personally intervene.
At which point Judge Anthony Kelly cracked it and, according to Voice for Victoria, "reminded them that if the Minister exercised that power it would actually result in a ban from Australia for THREE YEARS. Now that would be a mess." He made it sternly clear to Christopher Tran, who represented the Minister for Home Affairs and the commonwealth, that if anything like that was to come out of the blue, the court was to be notified.

I think that's $4 million he needs to just walk away from. How much money will Australia lose if the star of the show says "fuck off" and doesn't show?
I'm hoping he says GFY and leaves in his short window of opportunity.
Only thing is, the other players have been training and playing in a smaller tournament leading up to the big one so they're more competition-ready.
Nadal just won the final of the smaller tournament.
We shall see!
