I'm hearing people tell me "Sorry I didn't get around to doing that thing I said I was going to do -- my whole family got COVID". That's it, COVID is dead. When people are using it as an excuse to get out of doing shit, it's reduced to a joke.

You see that sometimes. There was this relative of mine who was in her forties with a good life. She had a good husband and kids. She even admitted it. There was nothing to complain about, but she got bored. So she went out and had an affair. It made her feel "alive" for the first time. Her teen son was the one who figured it out when he saw the dude's text. Rather than own up she broke up the family. She destroyed her entirely peaceful life because of boredom.
Then she regretted it and wanted everything to go the way it had been before and was upset when it was too late.
I'm amazed how much destruction people will do out of sheer boredom. It's always "I want to feel alive".
Some people got addicted to the outrage of BLM and to the fear of Covid. The DS used to provide a constant supply of outrage from Orange Man bad to conservatives bad. Now it's all drying up. They'll have nothing to make them "feel alive".
It’s the same with the “bad boy” archetype. People think that’s what makes life interesting and exciting…to have drama in their lives. Again some people are stupid.
I see a lot on social media who seem to cling to the covid stuff simply because there is no other "exciting" narrative to take its place. When BLM came out they temporarily forgot about covid because "OH SHINY!", but once that died off it was back to Covid.
What do we get upset about after covid?
It never occurs to them to create their own excitement, as in, learning a cool new skill or sport or form of art. Sociopaths create nothing - they just mimic and steal from those who do - which is also why they can't meme.
You'll notice that the excitement they crave always comes from the outside, not from the inside. That's why they're never fulfilled and never really happy. And it's always someone else's fault.
These crazy people that can’t just be happy?
No drama here... I hate drama.

Excellent Proverbs 💕👍🏽 Whole Chapter hits the nail on this thread.
She is a full-fledged Madam Bovary -- living a life of the mind with a highly romanticized view of the world that she tries to bring about only to end in disaster.
How very sad...
