I would let my car wear this sticker.
So would I!
Schools teach you to remember and regurgitate, critical thinking is a management problem for government. Did school teach you how to calculate the curvature of water on Earth, or why planes gain altitude to maximize their travel distance?
I try to tell people this all the time. You can teach people factoids, statistics, or even have them memorize an entire textbook. You cannot, however, teach a person to THINK.
"...critical thinking is a management problem for government"
A-1
My schools did....I am lucky and was born questioning everything...legit never outgrew the 2yrs old perpetual question for everything....WHY? then HOW? as I got older it progressed to PROVE IT! science was a natural fit for me. I LOVED the PROCESS of science. I was told once, if you don't have 5 more urgent NEW questions at the end of an experiment or study, your current study was kind of a waste...
Science doesn’t need you to “trust” it. Science doesn’t want you to “trust” it. Science is a tool for revealing the truth, and the truth is able to stand on its own.
I dont follow science, I follow established MEDICNE. Big difference.
The lab coat on TV told them so.
Medical Practice is called that for a reason....its practice. Established medicine was once a "outrageous" idea that took tons of failures and successes to get a good protocol established...ie hand washing after autopsies before delivering babies....that idea was mocked mercilessly.
This highlights the difference between scientism and science.
Science doesn't need to be distrusted, nor trusted. Science is what it is. It doesn't try to mislead you. Politically motivated scientists, on the other hand....
I hate when we make this argument. It plays right into their hands. It’s overly simplistic and illogical.
For example, I trust the science that a biological male is a biological male and a biological female is a biological female. That science is settled and questioning it is actually pretty stupid and even immoral when used to try to chop boys’ penises off and pretend they are girls.
I don’t question the composition of H2O. I think that science is pretty settled.
I am fairly certain that the sun is a star. I think that science is settled. Questioning that is moronic. It’s a waste of time and gay.
The pushback should be that their science is junk. It’s wrong. It’s flat out wrong. They change everything we knew about virology and epidemiology to pretend that COVID-19 was worse than it was, was killing more people than it was, and that we should fight it in some unique way that we’ve never used when battling viruses in the past. Strategies that extended the duration and death toll. That’s just bad science.
This idea that “questioning science is science” and other similar tropes and clichés that we use are cringey.
I’ve noticed a lot of people that promote them are anti-intellectuals. We have enough of those people on the right. We don’t need more of them.
So they are cringey? I have no problems with cliches, for at their heart are truths.
Not everyone can be an intellectual, that isn't important to be one these days. As for H20, that is not settled at all, water is very strange stuff, unbelievably so.
I'm pretty sure the fact that combusting hydrogen and oxygen creates water means water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen...
Have a DDG for Victor Schauberger.
This is what I keep trying to tell my teens. THANK YOU!

Would it be proper to say "Trust the Science" is an oxymoron?
I prefer "test the science" myself.
I'd love to see a Linus Vs. Fauci debate!
Come on man, we know who'd win!
Science is a dirty word.
