From what I read, gofundme was only halting the release of the funds until they got information on how and who the funds would be distributed to. I.e make sure the people who set up the gofundme are not just going to take the money for themselves. It seemed reasonable, but gofundme has made purely political moves in the past, so I guess we'll see.
“We require that fundraisers be transparent about the flow of funds and have a clear plan for how those funds will be spent. In this case, we are in touch with the organizer to verify that information,” Rachel Hollis, a spokeswoman for the crowdfunding platform, said in an email.
“Funds will be safely held until the organizer is able to provide the documentation to our team about how funds will be properly distributed.”
So the truckers are going to Ottawa to create a perimeter/roadblock from what I believe..
I’m extremely on edge to see what happens and how long they will hold out.
Also, the gofundme being frozen could be malicious or it could just be the creator of the gofundme hasn’t verified their email or submitted a photo ID or something logistical. I’ve heard it happens from time to time.
It’s sad that it’s more believable for a fund raising website that has no stake in the game to cancel you outright though.

That is something i have been considering myself. How they will actually get the money to the truckers. This is a legit reason.
