So last night I saw the new Sonic movie preview, and then just saw the Verizon/ cable guy commercial during the SB. Both had Jim Carey and I’ve been on the fence with the whole actors playing all these people story line. And while the person in these ads sure acts like Jim Carey, it just doesn’t look like him and he just seems... different. Anyone else notice that?

The first time I heard about clones and such it was about how a lot of folks, mostly rap fans, thought he was cloned. I think if I remember right he died sometime after the Marshal Matters LP. They would break down his lyrics and rap skills from before and how they degraded over time after the point he supposedly died.
Thought the same - it looks NOTHING like him. That's not just a guy getting old or getting a face lift - it's not him. It's a body double actor.
A lot of the celebrities look off nowadays. I think many are doubles. What makes a good movie? Good actors! 😀
My opinion - it's Jim, all right. He's gotten really skinny and gaunt, has dyed his light brown hair some too-dark unnatural color, his under-eye circles are very deep, his neck is too skinny and wrinkled and his expression is haunted. We are not used to seeing him this way. I think I know why he looks like this.
He has had a serious downward spiral since his GF suicided herself. He was responsible for her doing it and he knew it. He gave her several STDs and then gaslit her, claiming he didn't have any, and then she found his medication for it and a doctor's receipt where it showed he had tested positive for them and she confronted him for lying to her. He acted aloof and blamed her and said she was being 'too dramatic'. She was sick from them and he acted unsympathetic and told her she was too much of a crybaby and broke up with her. She told her mother all about it while she was going through it, and the mother spoke about it in the lawsuit, which is how I came to read about it.
The GF overdosed on HIS medication that he had left out, so if she actually did it herself, it may have been a message of sorts, or he overdosed her to shut her up, who can know. Her family then sued him for damages and his whole spiral began.
Since then, he has gone off the deep end, losing a bunch of weight and becoming a hermit. He outfitted one of his rooms in his house to accomodate him being suspended in the air so he can hover over these huge canvases where he makes caricature oil paintings of celebrities and politicians where he mocks them and makes them look hideous. There is a lot of anger and craziness in his oil paintings.
He has since made weird overtures toward Emma Stone, and behaved strangely at one of the National Fashion Week shows and some red carpet 'E' show where he acted mentally ill and like a predator, circling the female interviewer like he was going to eat her.
I think he needs to have psychotherapy, get a personal trainer and maybe consider some laser work to tighten up his saggy, gaunt and tortured face.
But until he lets go of those demons inside, his face will be unrecognizable.

O/T but so wierd how the Sonic the Hedgehog characters are used by Furries for their costumes too. Did you know the favorite furry outfits are animation animal characters? And the furries that are the pervy ones have costumes that provide... access. Lol.
