As a result, we need to wait and see if Justine Turdeau starts using these new emergency powers. The second she makes use of any of them, she has clearly broken the law. At that point, she is the obvious criminal.
In addition, since these powers are not legally in force, every Canadian has a duty to ignore the orders that come with them. Whether they will, I'm not overly optimistic? However, after the dust settles, it will become clear to everyone willing to listen to the truth that any use of emergency powers was illegal and any consequence form them such as fines are null and void. However, given the ignorance of the general Canadian public (still), we might be in for a rough ride in the near term.
Illegal, sure. But are there set penalties? If not, could easily just get a DS judge to let them off with a warning. "Don't do it again, or you're going to get another warning!" Trudeau has already been found 3 times to have violated ethics rules. No penalty.
