The founder of Dubai, Sheik Rashid, was asked about the future of his country, and he replied, "My grandfather rode a camel, my father rode a camel, I ride a Mercedes, my son rides a Land Rover, and my grandson is going to ride a Land Rover, but my great-grandson is going to have to ride a camel again.”
Why is that, he was asked.
And his reply was, “Hard times create strong men, strong men create easy times. Easy times create weak men, weak men create difficult times. Many will not understand it, but you have to raise warriors, not parasites. And add to that the historical reality that all great empires...the Persians, the Trojans, the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, and in later years, the British...all rose and perished within 240 years. They were not conquered by external enemies; they rotted from within.
America has now passed that 240-year mark, and the rot is starting to be visible and is accelerating. We are past the Mercedes and Land Rover years. The camels are on the horizon.
The greatest generation consisted of 18-year-old kids storming the beaches at Normandy. And now, two generations later, some 18-year-old kids want to hide in safe rooms when they hear words that hurt their feelings. They also want free stuff from the government because they think they are entitled to it.”
Patterns are critical, but there is one book that testifies that the pattern will be broken. Is now the time? We watch and we wait…
I’m an early Gen X and I have spent my whole life undoing the pattern of my boomer parents who generally preferred liquor to family time. They liked getting divorced too and dragging their kids along. I think we the Gen X 1961 or 64 to 1989 will save this world.
Trump is a Boomer
So am I. I'm also the most intelligent person I know (and modest, too).
kek
Yeah, inconvenient fact is all trumps inner circle are boomers except his kids.
I’m sorry to hear about your experience. The Boomers certainly failed in their duties as citizens. Don’t be too hard on them, though, if you look closely you’ll see the critical failures happened long before they were even born.
I find it interesting as a Christian that we have a generation called the Millennials coming of age during this critical point in history. Between your generation and theirs, I see great hope for the future.
So the buck starts and stops with a specific birthdate frame.....hmmm.
Rebel Without A Cause was released in pre-Boomer 1955. (to be 20 yr old in 1955, you'd be born in 1935 - Like James Dean.)
The 'Boomers' were seen as rebellious youth in their day. Their parents drank and smoked and had their own monkeys. Bad marriages without divorce or continual divorces, which is worse?
Same as every generation. With the meth/fentanyl kick going on today...and the mainstreaming of burning rioting....which generation gets the blame and why?
"So yeah.......grandpa did it to us too" __ Boomers
Shame on grandpa.
Boomers get a lot of crap, much of it deserved, some of it not. Somehow the Silent Generation got a pass, but they’re the underrated ruination of society. Boomers were too young to vote in the mid 1960s, but that’s the era of LBJ and Vietnam escalation, immigration/ invasion reform, and the violation of freedom of association.
A lot of it started when the government (welfare) gave single mothers money to stay home and have more kids. The more kids, the more money.
Yeah, you point is my point. Good and bad behavior is in every generation. We.will all have to work together to save this.
You’re blaming boomers but the 18 yr olds in the OP are kids of Gen X. Go back to Reddit.
Don’t be mean. This is a good discussion. I can look at the bad bits of my generation. Can you look at yourS?
I’m being mean? I’m not the one blaming Boomers for anything. I also don’t generalize everyone of any generation
Where have you been we already have fren. Truth set us free and they can’t put it back in the box.
Not with that basic misunderstanding of events.
What book is that??
I'm assuming the Bible.
