DC is not technically a state, or US territory. Consider that DC is currently occupied by a belligerent force. Keep in mind that there are already several dozen American prisoners of war that are rotting in the DC jail without any Constitutional rights being applied; with no charges, no speedy trial, no basic human rights.
WIth that in mind, wouldn't it be better for the truckers to stop just before the line that separates the US states from DC? They would still be blocking the roads. The press and cell phone cameras would still record the protest and share it globally. The effect of the demonstration would be basically the same as one done inside the District.
However, US laws would apply to the protestors in US territory. The Virginia Governor has already shown to be reasonable.
I just don't see the protest being any more impactful inside DC than at the borders of the District.

Good idea
I think you might be onto something … I have read that the trucks will surround DC using the Beltway 495 / completely block DC off… and keep them caged in!
Agreed and trucks filling up 495 would be awesome! Wouldn't really block the ability of getting in or out of DC but more impactful IMO.
Ring Around the Traitors, Folder Full of Indictments, Ashes, Ashes, They're All Going DOWN!!!!
I have wondered about the thought process in going to DC for the very reasons OP has outlined. Add to that what is happening in Canada, we now know the playbook. I wouldn't be surprised if the current regime isn't salivating over the possibility of a trucker convoy so that they can justify (in their minds) marshal law and the introduction of UN forces on US soil.
Don't forget Biden supposedly told Trudeau to "crush" the Canadian freedom Convoy. We know what they'll do...but they also want us to be paralyzed by fear of that outcome. Unfortunately with so many infiltrations it is definitely intimidating to take a stand. They want to take all our rights and liberties away anyways so why allow them to do that with no pushback? I agree though, best not to have to deal with capitol police, in the very least bc they are a vault that can't even be FOIA'd.

Surrounding that 10 square mile area and not going into it, definitely would make people ask questions about, devolution, and belligerent occupation.
Confirmed on War Room - no intention of going into DC proper. https://thepeoplesconvoy.org
I've said this before; DC is a waste of time. As stated above it is currently occupied by a belligerent force, with all the negatives that follow that. Not only that but it is nearly empty. No one is there, and although the counties surrounding DC are some of the richest in the USA, they do not produce anything. They are rich because they harvest our tax dollars. IMO, time would be better spent protesting the blue state capitals and blue cities, and it will be harder to censor. Most of the Capitol footage is still under wraps. The same thing will happen here and we will have to hear non-stop muh insurrection from the zombies again. That aside, I'm all for filling the 495 Beltway with trucks, just for fun.
I’ve been wondering the same thing. If they go into DC it could be a trap for them.
The VA side of DC can be completely blockaded by blocking 5 bridges, if I recall right. On the MD side, there are many roads which get into DC and can be circumnavigated. The Beltway would also significantly shut things down as well as I95N/Sbound highway. No need to go into DC. Guns are legal in VA. They are not (generally speaking) in MD and DC.
You’re right. Even blockading DC provides an excuse for a Federal response.
If nothing else, being in different states could complicate their response.
