I’ve worked in local gov since the 1990s. Mostly worked with good people, and never directly experienced corruption. Have seen news articles, and seen once good people take $$$ from those known to be corrupt. Disappointing but not surprising. That all happened with the elected officials though. Now during covid, some interesting things. First were the weekly briefings. I understood from an emergency management perspective. Brushed that off. Then continual messaging about the vaxx. Worked two different places in different states after the vaxx, messaging somewhat similar. Almost got mandated, but they got lawsuited and stopped. Most recently a couple of weeks ago was on a zoom meeting with our chief executive, was discussing covid and how our numbers were trending in a positive direction and the fire chief mentioned getting back to normal. Our chief executive then laughed and gleefully said we’re never going back to normal. I just sat there and wondered WTF?

I mean, he's right. These corrupt folks will be in prison and we'll be experiencing freedom for the first time in any of our lives.

Was weird, he was laughing but it sounded malicious. Someone else that was in the meeting suggested his behavior was odd so I don’t think I was the only one who thought it was wierd.
Do you know his politics? To give him the benefit of the doubt it might be a sarcastic comment and laugh as if it's foolish to think we'll ever get back to normal.

I honestly agree with him. Whatever we deemed "normal" prior to covid is now dead. It's up to us to now decide if we allow the Great Reset to happen, or the Great Awakening...giving the powers back to We The People who rightfully own it. I personally don't want to go back to what we were either, now knowing we were living a complete lie.

Covid has given a lot of people power not just prime ministers but local authorities, teachers and Karen's everywhere. They don't want to give it up.
There will be fights for years. People saying sure Covid is over but I want a "safe" workplace. Please just wear a mask or sanitize your hands or do whatever crap I think I can get away with.
Yeah, for a while he was not hiring people who didn’t have the vaxx until that was outlawed.
Yeah when I go to the county permit office they ask you to do hand sanitizer but don't care about masks. The lady's will explain how masks are useless but you have to do something to come into a business. It's weird.

I agree. They changed how they are counting cases. They know half of us see their bullshit. Problem is that even after everything, I can’t believe how many are still playing the covid game like it’s 2020.
Their internal polling probably shows that the covid restrictions are too unpopular. Then once they get back in (if they do), the restrictions will come back.
