Canada Has By Vote, Become Officially Communist.
BREAKING NEWS
At a vote of 185 to 151, the DemoLibs of Canada have successfully made their PM TruDope a Communist Dictator by agreeing to formally vote in his “Emergency Powers”! God bless the Conservative people of Canada, and have no mercy on the Communists that have allowed Tyranny to overthrow their country. Stand tall America. Russia, Brazil, a handful of other countries, and we are all that stand against the World Economic Forum. And We Will Win.
Crypto runs off of Nodes. Currently, these nodes run off of the internet. Though, Nodes can communicate via LoRA. Also, look at helium. And what do you think internet 3.0 will be? A bunch of nodes… The real question is what happens if power goes out? And as explained below, if that ever happens, wtf would you need crypto or any other consumer asset for at that point.
What's the difference between Crypto and Fiat money in the event of societal collapse? One can be used for toilet paper.
Hard assets are always best assets.
You can store your keys using a hardware wallet and can transact peer to peer offline (though VERY complicated) so there’s some hard assets for ya, although, if you asked me if I rather have precious metals over crypto, I’d obviously take the precious metals
Honestly I think bullets are the best currency in SHTF scenario. Easy to trade with and also has useful value and is shelf stable.
This. Ammo and Liquor will be worth more than any precious metal in a real SHTF scenario. Ask anyone that was a part of or went through the Bosnia fiasco.
Bullet, tobacco, toilet paper.
I've been stockpiling boxes of Bic lighters.
With correct materials you can make your own as well
Get a Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 300 and Solar Panel for $600.
You can now power an entire computer workstation and charge other people's devices off the grid.
Battery fully charged lasts a good 4 hours.
Won't do heating elements though.
Each person in the transaction would need the knowledge and supplies to perform and verify this transaction with crypto.
With physical assets you literally just hand the person.
I’m seeing benefits to Bitcoin (assuming what I’ve been told about it is true) but it is not going to be a SHTF currency
Silver or Gold isn't going to be a SHTF currency either. In a trade society, you trade usable goods or services.
However if there is a medium of exchange, it would need to be agreed upon between both parties. When SHTF, you would really think, deep deep down, that you would much rather trade for food/supplies instead of Gold/Silver.
And what good does that do you without power?
One is a worthless piece of paper with no actual value and one is a worthless piece of data with no actual value. One exists physically one doesn't. They are only worth the value they are perceived as having. It's only "valuble" because we see it as such and put value in it. I think crypto and nfts are sort of a scam they can easily pull the rug on and cash out and won't work without internet and social credit systems they're trying to implement will make it a nightmare. Not trying to even doom here I am just good at picking up on scams. I don't even like fiat and am aware of the flaws of a precious metals system. We should do a little trolling and just use diamonds since the scarcity is artificial anyway. Also they have practical application, are small, and easy to store.
