I just had similar conversation yesterday. To clean this out properly Rico all and politicians that even took $1000 dollars in a corrupt deal need to still serve 10 years. Corruption punishment needs to hurt bad enough that you never take any amount of money illegally or backdoor deals.

That's probably why when he kept saying he's not suicidal that's because he has genuine fear he will be murdered and since he's going down is the moment he decided the rest of them should go down. Might have been his moment of wake up call. Just my guess.
