Fentanyl doesn’t just spontaneously vaporize lol this is not a well thought out theory at all. Even if a personal stash were to somehow immediately vaporize in the vents, that’s not enough to get anyone high. It would be reported in an investigation that a bag with residue was found.
firstly, it's a powder and it's real powerful, cops have gotten overdosed by just handling it from skin contact so if it was in an air vent with a rip in a baggie or open baggie it could be blowing the powder
second, it's not like the media doesn't bend the facts and play with words and outright lie in news reports.
I don't think you've ever handled the stuff before. It sticks together, especially with any moisture at all. Especially after smuggling it in through your butt, its going to be nice and compact and never break down into powder again. In fact, it will be gummy, especially from the tiny bit of moisture that will inevitably seep in from your colon.
And then if you want to deny all of that reasoning, this bag has to be laid out completely open exposed in an air vent. You think someone who smuggled in fentanyl would leave what they would obviously know is loose and dry powder open and untied in an AIR VENT? No one would do that even if they wanted to get high, it would be an absurd waste. No one is going through the effort to smuggle that much fentanyl through their butts just to throw it all into the air. But that doesn't even matter because it wouldn't happen anyways because fentanyl isn't just a powder that blows in the wind.
I'm just saying maybe some kid hid some in an air vent and it got into the air and poisoned some people. There are a lot of reasons someone would hide contraband in a prison and other ways to get stuff in there besides butt smuggling it. You're right that I've never handled it and I don't know anything about butt smuggling either. Why do you think anyone would aerosolize it and release it in a youth detention center?

New prison facilities built and renovated in Australia over the last 2 years have many cells completely sealed. This info from a first hand account- My son has been working on some of these construction projects.

Including Australia’s new and largest one at Grafton that has a capacity of 1700 with iirc 200-300 solitary cells, all sealed. From personal experience, 99.9% of smuggling is done through the butt, not shoes. Also, it take more than “sticking into an air vent” to vaporize fentanyl, let alone quick enough to have any effect on anyone who happens to be in a room it’s vented into.

Since China makes the Fentanyl, I'd say that they would have the most of it on hand.
