Approximately 20,000 of those youth (from U.S. foster care) age-out each year without positive familial supports or any family connection at all. Within 18 months of emancipation 40-50% of foster youth become homeless.

Came very close as a child to becoming one of those statistics.
I'm sorry to hear that your family had such an experience and hope it was overcome. Bless you.
Had a savior in an older sister. Thank you very much
Just think about any regular 18 year old. I have no idea what the percentage might be but you can be sure that eighteen isn’t some magical number where you all of a sudden become a capable financially independent adult. Most regular kids have some kind of family support system to help them transition into independence or even come back home if need be not to mention the ones that don’t even leave home until later.
So true, wise words. And then, imagine, there is an estimate of 12 million alumni of the system, conservative estimate in my opinion since so many of the severely used and abused disappear from govt services forever. So, think about that number of outcastes and the typical responses of people who say that the poor should pull themselves up by their bootstraps. They don't even have friggin boots!
:(
It's heartbreaking.
Yep I’d take a couple if it wasn’t so difficult and expensive to adopt
That’s where we’re headed. No kids and saving like crazy so we can sell the house and move out of the city. God didn’t intend us to sit at a desk all day, I’d like to get back to nature.
Here I am in the city. Stocked up a bit of gold and silver, with a bit of means to protect it, and a chunk of savings in crypto and some stocks (dwac included) wherever life takes me, it's the path I was born into and forged through :P
Indeed. My eyes have been opened so much!
Having been a foster parent, it is extremely difficult to turn a young person around who gets thrown into the system over the age of 5-6. They have usually seen more things than we can imagine and they don't forget them. Taking on troubled teens taught us that most are simply biding their time. Once they turn 18, they know there is nothing we can do and like most kids, they think they are smarter than us and can do their own thing. Yes, it is heartbreaking.
Love and patience can overcome most, if not all issues for little ones. Teen-agers, especially, with all the problems in the school system-that's a tough nut. And then, there are the prescribed drugs. May I ask you a question? How many children did you take in? And how often were they each given visits from their social worker a year? How often did they see a therapist? Did you feel supported on your end in your efforts to help them? Thank you kindly.
Ours came from a private foundation. These children were about one step away from juvenile detention. Yes, they had weekly counseling and the support system for the parents was very good. I don't recall any medications, but the last one had COD & ADD and they didn't tell us. He nearly drove us crazy and having to send him away was the worst thing I've ever had to do. It was then, along with starting a new business, that I knew I wasn't cut out to do this. We had 5.
That's heart-breaking. Lack of information about the child's experiences before they get to a care-giver is another failure in the system.
❤to you for doing what you could❤
Have you read about CASA (court appointed special advocates)? Some seriously shady stuff goes on regarding who becomes a CASA and what goes on behind the scenes (I know a previous CASA, who booked it out of that system due to corruption). Just look at the logo, which should raise some red flags on its own.
An uncle of mine by marriage was a guardian or caregiver for the system. He was a total dickwad and groomed one of the young girls he was supposed to be a foster parent to. Beyond that personal story are more stories of various cousins who were sexually abused by the folks who were supposed to be THEIR foster parents. A male cousin of mine was physically abused - broken ribs I believe. For context, my family is large and some of the adults who birthed my cousins were shitbags and couldn’t care for their own children. This was all in Oregon state.
Soon we will see stories about the corruption. They do traffic kids and sometimes they traffic them out of the country. I promise you they approve “guardians” or foster parents who THEY KNOW groom or molest children. Its a fact to me because I have seen it first hand.
So, while your mother sounds like a saint and your town sounds lovely, these evil demons do exist outside your vicinity.
100% agree. I'm old and have seen much. Thanks.
Yep. Its a huge scam. They target parents who can’t afford to hire a lawyer to fight the charges. They’ve also medically kidnapped kids in Oregon (look up the Kylee Dixon case; her mom is a good woman and never deserved to have her rights removed).
The whole system makes a ton of money off the foster care system. Children who they steal from parents (yes it happens to parents who are competent) are currency for the state and the whole child care system. Its a SCAM, a pyramid scheme, a parent gaslighting system, a pedo ring and it will be exposed.
Your mother sounds like an absolute angel, so how did you end up abused?
My mother took in foster kids for a while when I was a young child. I have my own story to tell someday...when I’m able.
"Many innocent people are going to get caught up in this." Can you clarify what you meant? Thank you kindly.
False accusations etc
When people look for some substantiation of their fears, beliefs, etc., they sometimes find it in the wrong places, at times. Kinda like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Metoo did it to innocents, for example.
Who made a false accusation? In this convo?
No. The situation at hand.
Many will be falsely accused, in my opinion. It happens during societal upheavals such as Disney, etc
The innocent caregivers in the fostercare system can take care of themselves, they're adults and will be even more supported and admired because they are protected by their innocence. It's the others that need to be stopped. I'm concerned with the children, the homeless who aged out of fostercare, and the injustices perpetrated on them and their families. Including, but not limited to, the cia, traffickers, jaycees, masons, abusive foster parents, and negligent and/or corrupt social workers and judges.
I feel for you. You aren't alone. You're in my prayers. Take care and take breaks from all this.
Thank you 7ate9! So kind. Going to have to step away this wkend, but we're at WAR!
Prayer requested.
who's at war?
Digital warriors ring a bell? We are in a digital and spiritual war as we speak.
Andrew Breitbart...
I would be much obliged to hear what her concerns were. Can you share?
Yes, which hopefully I remember accurately.
This CASA was encouraged to join because she wanted to do something good for her community -- I know this person, and can testify that she is, in fact, someone who does good because she is good.
Well, a few months (maybe a year) into being a CASA, she found that the leader of her local CASA was diverting funds. Some kind of shenanigans, too, regarding whose foster home kids go to, how much money the foster family gets per kid, etc. I think a judge was in on it? Anyway, it's anecdotal so I apologize for that. I'll talk to this person and get more details if I can.
That's awesome, please do and thank you for the reply!
Follow up: I spoke to the ex-CASA I know. According to her, the leader of her local CASA was writing his own checks, promoting people to the CASA board by his own whims (in other words, no oversight), and was just generally a very corrupt individual. He was ousted, but it really ruined the name of the organization in the area.
Apparently the Judge was solid, though. A really good one, interested and invested in placing these children in good homes.
Re: logo
It's a kid who has new wings/life. Not all is a conspiracy.
I realize you have positive ties to CASA and that not all CASAs around the nation are inherently bad or corrupt -- as we could say about many organizations -- and I'm sincerely happy to hear that your mother did such amazing work. Truly!
Discernment should be applied, however, and any organization that works closely with children has me on guard -- especially considering the ex-CASA I know. She worked in a big(ish) city, rife with corruption -- maybe that's the difference?
I agree with you 100% -- not all is a conspiracy.
Thanks. I pray for wisdom and discernment daily to survive.
Yep! It is a pretty sick system.
Sorry my Social Studies class never taught me that; we spend hours watching CNN.
oh great lol
Shit. This is what we need to be doing something about. Not The Current Thing.
The globalists set up this whole scenario. They WANT it like this.
yes, I so agree that these are the things we need to be addressing!
I did.
Seriously get involved. The kids need faith in fellow man.
Lot of them also are totally whacked out on drugs.
If you didn’t know they prescribe drugs like water to kids in Foster.
Yes I have kown of this. Many become criminals in order to survive because many counties put problem children thatcanmot be controlled into the samecare facilities as true orphans.
And they are run almost entirely by liberals.
yes, I did know this, not only this but many do not know how to be on their own. Fe example: many don't know how to wash clothes since foster parents tend to not trust them with the equipment and would rather teach their real kids. I created a website for a hospital to help them also figure out where to go for medical treatment since many go to the ER for any and every medical issue.
And then, conversely, many are servants. And many don't trust hospitals at all, or social services, or any institution.
I commend you for your efforts!
This is unacceptable. They should allow the 18 to Age Out if they choose. Then help the ones that remain find housing, employment etc
