I don't think Elon ever expected to successfully complete his hostile takeover. What he has done though, is to create the conditions for a shareholder lawsuit where free speech is a materially relevant component. The discovery process in the coming lawsuits should be interesting.
The shareholders have still not been given a vote re:musk. I'd bet most of them would vote for the sale, rather than leave the future of the company in the hands of a random investment firm.
At the root of everything, right below the 13 controlling families, is Vanguard and Blackrock. Someone else should step in, buy considerable shares and then pair with Elon Musk, like maybe an acquisition company.
