I'm taking out anyone in my way or until they take me out. There is no "law and order" once food is gone. It's "If you have it and don't have a gun. It's mine."...On every leftist I know of lol
The issue with that is you are up against dozens or more people who are desperate.
I think roving scavengers would be a huge problem in some sort of end times event. Unless you were able to have armed guards protecting you and your property 24/7/365 I would think at some point someone would just take your supplies and maybe kill you in the process.
I think there is a lot of fantasy machismo that goes on when people imagine themselves defending their property. But they never think of the desperation of people starving or parents with starving children.
You're right. But that's not what I meant. I meant if shit hits the fan, the leftists around me (and there are a lot) are going to have their shit taken by me as they all oppose firearms and weapons in general lol
My feeling is that if there is a nationwide food shortage/cut off, people would get by for a few days on normal home supplies, in a few more days people would start getting hungry, a few more days after that people would be desperate and start breaking into places in search of food, but they would be weak. A few days after that, the only people with food would be scattered hoarders, and if they are also armed, would be able to defend themselves. Roving gangs would be hungry, because they would have been in the group who didn't hoard, and had been hungry for quite a while, so their ability to find significant, un-armed, places for raiding would be limited, and I think even they would get starved out, unless they found some lucky cache of food that was unprotected. This would leave only the hoarders, with defense, left. But the real question is, who, other than the real hard-core hoarders, would have enough food to last more than a month or two? (wild game and wild plants would be the only real food source unless you had a self-sufficient farm)

Gotcha. I completely misunderstood what you were saying. My bad. 😊
Yup. This is the plot of 'Soylent Green'. Charlton Heston with a .50 cal on his house shooting at Anthony Zerbe and his starving friends.
I only vaguely remember the movie. Basically just him screaming "Soylent Green is people!" at the end.
I just looked up the plot to remind myself of the details and saw it's set in 2022.
At least we seem to have dodged that bullet. 😁
