Curious to know how many "Christians" unironically upvoted this whilst not realizing that Christ may very well overturn tables in their church...
Jesus was very anti establishment and very anti religion. "Where two or more of my people gather, there I am also". That's it. That's church. It's not a building. It's not a denomination it's not even a religion. Jesus... just wanted to be an idea. A VERY powerful idea, but He does not want us to make war with each other. He does not want us to hate or isolate. Those ideas come from Paul and until Christians realize they worship at the alter of Paul, they will continue on like the Pharisees.
is there any official explanation for why they're called Babylon Bee? the symbolism is rather questionable, although it could be worse, at least they don't call themselves Babylon Fly. I bet they're just fans of honey or something
Seth Dillon (CEO of Babylon Bee) actually mentioned it in one of his interviews. Don’t remember with whom exactly - maybe Ben Shapiro?
I can’t quote him word-for-word, but as I recall, he sees the present corrupt state of the world as “Babylon”, and he’s the “bee” making something sweet (and funny) out of it. “Out of the lion, something sweet”. In short, he’s aware of the symbolism.
well at least they're not playing dumb then. too often I hear artists come up with something disturbingly symbolic, but when asked about the meaning, they respond with something along the lines of "idk, I'm so roandom, lol".
the Samson story is in fact the source of bee symbolism, and it all evolved from there, making it into coins, regalia, coats of arms and even the the title of a satirical online publication. make what you will of it, let's say it's just a piece of trivia, but if it's something up your alley, you can look up masonic beehive
(Mark 6:3) Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph,[a] Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.
Yes, unfortunately the New Testament kind of omitted his first 32 years when he was swinging a hammer. Whether or not He was truly a carpenter is therefore somewhat of a leap of faith friend. g8rb81 - If you are having disbelief at this small historical fact I’m guessing your unsure about the miracles Jesus performed as well...? /s
There's a lot from the Bible that is missing. The earliest accounts of the older section or "Old Testament" date almost 700 years AFTER the events. Considering what we know now about information manipulation and how stupid easy it can be, I am very certain that a version of the original law has been hidden that preached a more forgiving message and was more consistent with the teachings of Jesus. But such texts would encourage freedom of thought and ideas and well... as history has shown us, the cabal makes every effort to stifle that.
I know a lot here have this boring idea of what the Kingdom is like and aren't ready to accept the possibility that the hippies may have been closer in alignment... but the truth is that remains to be seen. All I know is if you are certain you know the Will of God.... you're likely very wrong.
(John 21:25) But there are also many other things which Jesus did, which, if they were written in detail, I expect that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.
Jesus was probably more of a cabinet maker. Carpenter implies more of a house carpenter, but they didn't have those back then with their mud, brick, and stone structures.
Joseph was from a connected family, so I would think he was a cabinet maker or maker of fine objects, such as jewel boxes, etc.
Good one, and so obviously of the moment.
After seeing this one today I think it’s the Bee’s finest Post?!

Finally, I can close the book on this mystery. Thank you fren.

Ah yes, concern trolling about our sources of satire from a handshake
Womp womp.
Gosh, that's 3 painfully obvious NPC handshakes in <24 hours. The useful idiots are persistent.
AFAIK Jesus was the son of a carpenter and never hit a lick at the trade. Prove me wrong. Get started.
I'll be your huckleberry:

Anyone that believes Jesus actually turned water into wine is... special.
Color me special then...!
Prove yourself right.
I already know I'm right and you are nothing to me.
Good luck with that attitude.
Bible doesn't say either way,but most people assume he wasn't a slacker.
Never said he was a slacker, he just might not have been an actual carpenter.

The nose knows.
