Where did I say that spending millions was ok, 'bro'?
You and I (and all of us here) know that government spends money wa-a-a-ay too easily. We don't need to look at Uvalde to see evidence of that.
That doesn't change the fact that the article/image is off by a factor of more than 1200. And not 1200 percent, but 1200 times the actual amount.
Whoever wrote the article was either very sloppy, or (perhaps) intentionally trying to 'generate false outrage' (in order to keep us from using resources to find an actual problem).
Sorry. I had seen the article that this picture comes from (I had responded to one of the sticky posts that refers to it.)
It's the last image in this article: (Note: I do not recommend this article - it is flawed in at least this image, and once I spot a 1000x error, I tend to ignore the source after that.)
I still find it weird Lockheed Martin is donating to the district/they had 32 million more in DOE funding in 2021 than in 2022, but I see what you mean.
Holy crap, is this for the whole county, cause these numbers are like what you'd see in a pretty large metropolitan area like Atlanta, or Houston. $54 Billion for a county of 20K people.....There's no way that's not shady.
The information would need to be true in order for it to be shady. The information is not true, but gullible folks take it hook, line and sinker. Zero critical thinking skills remain.
I went to the article and went right to very the last image --- amazingly huge numbers.
So, I went to the usaspending.gov site myself, and you only see these huge numbers if you don't choose any filters.
That means the 'huge numbers' are total spending, and not for Uvalde. He typed the city into the sidebar, but he never added the filter.
That's either stupid, or deceptive.
Either way, it's silly to trust (or even read) the rest of the article when this part is off by orders of magnitude.
Yea this was my finding also.

Except that I did add the filters, and while funding was higher in 2021 than 2022, I still got $44 million.
The article shows $54 BILLION. That's more than 1200 TIMES $44 million.
The article?? I didn’t link to an article???

All good.

That should have been more obvious in the title, TBH.
I will try to reupload with something clearer when I am not on mobile.

It was in a 4chan thread from earlier today.
This is the website they used.
What sickens me is the grants from medical research institutions and blood donor programs like Bloodworks.

What makes it not true?
That’s on order of what they giving to Ukraine a whole country at war.
Wow! Read that drop from earlier talking about fed money and the police being bought off etc.
follow the money
I did submit the search, which is the weird part.
For 2022.
I’m wondering why they had over $30 mil in 2021.
This can't be true
Sauce?
The government’s spending tracking website.
Did the amount get changed? I'm seeing ~$6,000,000 with same parameters
Yeah, they are changing it.
I’m getting $44mil

What is a Uvalde?
911 victim's families did too - they want them to keep quiet - it's hush money.
