Wasn't the official story between 2 to 3 trillion dollars? 20 trillion would have been multiple times the gross national product. Not that I believe the "official" story, but $20 trillion seems way too much.

They were already embedded here since after the civil war. Prussia has been the model for first our education system, then our financial system, and now the state and Progressivism has been advancing here since before WW1.
