My job did that. Required everyone get the shot or be laid off then at the last minute the fed pulled the requirement back so my job did as well. Some months later, after many of my co-workers got the vaccine, they are laying off hundreds and hundreds of people. It's sickening to be honest and I need to find a new place of employment. Or start a business of my own or something.
My job was within days of doing the same. Just after the New Year. We got the official memo and everything. I couldn't sleep or eat for weeks, just waiting for the compliance squads to make the rounds, demanding to know everyone's status. After the SCOTUS decision came down, it all stopped. Between the two events (memo and SC decision) a couple of my colleagues cracked and got at least one jab. There's only one other person I know of (besides me) who resisted completely. Damn them all for putting us through this.
I remember telling my boss at the time that they can't do this. He was as supportive as he could be but had his hands tied. I told him they can't do this and they will pull it back at the last minute (wishful thinking on my part I guess) and then they did. I am one of very few who was ready to get fired. I think most did get the shot and I can only think of 2 others who didn't. I know there were more but it's a big company.
Same. About the 'ready to get fired' part. Where we differ is that you have a supportive boss. Mine just went for jab #4 recently. (I'm keeping my distance!) I don't think my boss has any idea I'm a pureblood. Almost everyone I work for/with are true believers in the covidian cult. It's insane.
